To capture a Pokémon, you of course need a Poké Ball. The capture rate increases as the Pokémon is weakened. 100% HP - 30% capture rate 99-75% HP - 50% capture rate 74-50% HP - 70% capture rate 49-25% HP - 80% capture rate 24-1% HP - 98% capture rate Fainted - 100% If the Pokémon has a status condition, the capture rate increases by 10%. Stronger Poké Balls add to the catch rate by multiples of 5% depending on the ball's effect in the games. The capture rate cannot go above 99% unless the Pokémon has fainted. If you capture a Pokémon, you do not get experience from the battle, regardless of if you have fainted it or not. |
