Folding best hand

How much do people fold a better hand before the flop or on the flop? We know people on these sites like to overbet flops-and love to go all in. Do you ever fold a better hand to stay away from them if you know they probably still have a 30-35 percent chance to win? I sometimes do this-I always see it as I think I have better than a 65 percent chance to gain the same amount of chips slowly as I do as pushing all-in against a maniac and have them possibly outdraw me. If I confront one maniac, I probably will have to confront 3 or 4 during the tourney, and then I might be gone. Do you think this is good tourney strategy for the craziness that is online poker?

I would have to agree. I find myself doing the exact same thing.

Yes, I also agree. When you are playing with weak players, you want to last longer so you can see more hands and wait until you get a big one when you can outplay them. There's absolutely no reason to take coinflips, 55/45, or 60/40 situations against these guys, wait until you have 1010 or higher if it's all-in pre-flop, then you are most likely a 65/35 or better favorite if they've been going all-in with nothing. I totally agree with what you've said, cubs.

I agree for the most part. Alot of times it depends on the mood I'm in (I know emotions should not play apart of your game, but it happens). I find myself folding more good hands post flop than I do pre flop. The cards on the table give me something to look at to make better calls. Something about the "you never know whats going to flop" makes me call them pre flop. I do however find myself doing less of that when it is real money on the table (still trying to break myself of the ESPN money, mindset).

I am bad about not folding pre-flop as often as I should. I will call minimum raises with KQ suited KJ suited Mid to small pairs, hoping to hit the flop. This gets me in trouble often, as I improve on the flop, but am up against someone who has improved more.

Post flop play is tough. Once you have called pre-flop, it is hard to laydown when you have hit your hand. (ie Top pair of a jack with a king kicker, when you have KJ). Especially in a ring game with an agressive player at your table. They have been raising pre-flop over and over and over, then firing at the pot on the flop. Eventually I take a stupid stand against them and unfortunatley of late it has been at the wrong time.
Your Montlhy laundry tip from Deej
Follow these guidelines to care for linen:

Avoid creasing linen clothing in the same places repeatedly-the fabric will eventually weaken at that crease point.

When choosing colored linen clothing, look for a label that says "colorfast" or "vat dyed" for better colorfastness.

If machine washable (remember to check your garment care label), use a shorter or gentler agitation cycle and air dry.

I agree I will fold pre flop to stay away from the maniac and wait until I have a monster hand to take a stand. Tourney is about survival and I have no interest in taking coin flip situations early on. Now when I end up short stack that's different.
