Lesson learned #1. When taking Loritab for a bad back tournament play is NOT the correct the way to spend time. Back in November I was diagnosed with arthritis and some big bone spurs on my spine. I had a live local tourny (that I usually do quite good in) Saturday night and my back picked about 2 hours before it started to start giving me fits. It was the pain that sitting still for 8 hours straight that made me go to the doc in the first place so I knew I was going to be in trouble. What to do? Simple answer take Loritab right before the cards are dealt then the pills would kick in about the same time as the pain. They would negate each other and I would cruise into an easy payday. I get there and wash my secret weapon down just before going in to sit down. It worked like a charm, the pain came and got numbed according to plan. The problem is I went numb, lost my concentration and grinned a lot and my aggression level was that of a sleeping kitten. My average to weak poker skills went right out the window. I could not control the table and I knew it. But hey I felt fine sitting there. |

As a footnote let me add that I am a light drinker. I hate to take as much as an aspirin. I do not endorse playing poker while less than in full control of your facilities..... it makes for an interesting excuse for your early exit. |

Nice Wild. I also advise not to be stone-cold sober when playing either. It makes for a miserable time once you lose after playing for awhile. |
