DeSoto releases information on skeletal remains March 12, 2007 Article's Tools: By Vickie Welborn vwelborn@gannett.com MANSFIELD - Skeletal remains found March 2 in a rural area of DeSoto Parish belong to a black male who suffered a gunshot would to the head, Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle said this morning. That means the apparent homicide case will not solve one of the parish’s missing person cases since no one fitting that description has been reported missing from DeSoto Parish, the sheriff said. DeSoto investigators are notifying surrounding law enforcement agents to see if fits any of their open cases. The skeletal remains have been in the custody of Mary Manheim, a forensic anthropologist, since their discovery. Manheim told DeSoto investigators the black male is between 28 and 38 years old, whose height ranged from 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches. The remains have been in the wooded area off of Cedar Hill Road for 6 months to a year. “She got good dental so if any of the missing people match then we can identify from that,” Arbuckle said. http://www.shreveporttimes.com/apps/pbcs.d...12012/1002/NEWS |
