Broward murder victim ID'd after 26 yearsA woman slain nearly 26 years ago in Broward County has finally been identified after family members read about her case on a sheriff's website detailing unidentified victims.
Broward Sheriff's Office officials said Monday that the brother and sisters of Mary Ann Lambert led to a positive identification through the ``Found and Forgotten'' program. A key clue was a front tooth that Lambert chipped as a child growing up in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Lambert's body was found in a Pompano Beach field in September 1983. In 2008, partial fingerprints were resubmitted to a state lab. That revealed the names Lambert and an alias Tina Moore. But police didn't know her true identity until July.
