An autopsy conducted today in Springfield on human remains found by hunters over the weekend northwest of Lebanon revealed the body of a white woman, the Laclede County Sheriff’s Department said. The woman’s body was in a black plastic tote/tool box that was filled with concrete, the sheriff’s department said. The autoposy revealed the woman to be between the ages of 30 and 40 years old, 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-8 and weighing about 135 pounds. She had light to medium brown hair that was seven to 10 inches long, and piercings in both ears. She was wearing sleep attire. The autoposy also showed the woman had had a laparoscopic gallbladder surgery and a full hysterectomy, and that she might have had children, the sheriff’s department said. The next step in the investigation is to identify the woman. Hunters found the container with the woman’s body on Saturday near Laclede County AA, about a mile south of Kenfolk Road. Sheriff Richard Wrinkle said the container weighed about 600 pounds and appeared to have been taken out of a vehicle and pushed down an embankment to come to rest against a barbed wire fence http://www.news-leader.com/article/2008111...KING01/81117036 |

Body Found Encased In Concrete, Stuffed In Tool Box Last Edited: Tuesday, 25 Nov 2008, 9:56 PM CST Created: Tuesday, 25 Nov 2008, 9:23 PM CST . SideBar Watch Chris Regnier's report from Rolla here: Related Items Videos Links Laclede County Sheriff's Office By: Chris Regnier (KTVI - myFOXstl.com) -- There is a bizarre and gruesome murder case unfolding in Laclede County in Central Missouri. A woman's body was discovered stuffed inside a plastic tool box- the body encased in concrete. The Missouri Highway Patrol in Rolla is investigating the case along with the Laclede County Sheriff's Department. At this point, investigators still don't know who the victim is and they're asking the public for help. "It is extremely unusual to have something like this," said Laclede County Sheriff Richard Wrinkle. Wrinkle says this is the strangest case he's ever seen in his 37 years in law enforcement. He says that concrete covered much of the body- the woman was wearing pajamas with no shoes or socks. He explained, "She was basically sitting in the box with her knees up and the concrete was poured over her." Two deer hunters found the box and body on the morning of November 15th off Highway AA outside Lebanon. The box was in a ditch off the roadway. It took four sheriff's deputies to lift the body and box and take everything to Springfield. "At the autopsy, the assistant medical examiner used a hammer and a big chisel to chip the concrete and get it out," said Wrinkle. The woman is described as white, five feet five inches tall to five feet eight inches tall and 135 to 150 pounds. She is 25 to 45 years old with brown hair seven to ten inches long. Wrinkle says the victim has other distinguishing features as well. "(She has) no tattoos unless they could have been on the lower extremities which were to badly decomposed too tell; only one piercing in each ear; she had had a full hysterectomy; she had had gall bladder removal," explained Wrinkle. The sheriff also tells us the woman had dental work done and her fingernails were manicured. "This is somebody's mother, sister, and we need to identify her and get her back to her family and find out who's responsible," said the sheriff. Wrinkle believes the woman had been killed seven to ten days before she was found. He thinks she was killed somewhere else then dumped off Highway AA. Investigators have been checking missing persons files, but so far no match. If you have any information, call the Laclede County Sheriff's Department. . http://www.myfoxstl.com/myfox/pages/News/D...TY&pageId=3.2.1 |

http://ozarksfirst.com/content/fulltext/?cid=94131 Husband Arrested, Charged in Wife's Murder Thursday, Dec 11, 2008 @10:37am CST (Lebanon, MO) -- The Laclede County Sheriff's Department announces a major break in a recent homicide, including the victim's identity and a suspect's arrest. Horst Gunther Sabla, 54, (left) of Lebanon, is being held at the Laclede County jail on charges he murdered his wife. The body of Sharon Sabla, 51, was discovered November 15 by two hunters, who found her remains inside a black plastic cargo box off Route AA. The body was packed with lime and concrete and did not match any missing person's file on record. But Horst Sabla was arrested Wednesday, and investigators say he admitted killing his wife long before her body was found. Investigators say Sabla told them he shot his wife (right) in the back of the head, killing her, on August 9. That's when he allegedly placed the body in the plastic box. According to court documents, Sabla filled the box with lime and concrete a few days later. He kept the box at their home for several weeks before taking it six miles to the spot off Route AA where it was discovered. Laclede County Sheriff Richard Wrinkle says the case would still be unsolved if not for a woman who came forward. She told law enforcment she had not seen Sharon Sabla for weeks. Sharon's daughter provided DNA to identify the body Wednesday morning. Shortly after that, officers took Horst Sabla into custody and charged him with first degree murder and armed criminal action. The couple lived together at Thompson's RV Park in Lebanon. Wrinkle would not release further details about the couple's personal lives because the ongoing investigation. |
