Mom waits 2 years to report missing son
By Pat Maurer, Review Corospondent, on July 24th, 2009
The Clare County Sheriff’s Department is asking the public for their help in locating a missing person, Timothy Todd Taylor.

Taylor, a white male, now age 43 and from the Farwell area, was reported missing by his mother on June 15, 2009.

No one has heard from the man for more than two years. “Foul play is suspected,” Sheriff John Wilson said Thursday.

According to the reports, Taylor’s mother said she “started to get a bad feeling a year and a half ago” when she had not heard from her son.

Wilson didn’t know why the woman waited so long to report that her son was missing.

Taylor’s address was the same as his mother, although he was not living with his mother at the time of his disappearance.

Reportedly, Taylor was last seen in June 2007 leaving his mother’s residence in the Oakridge Subdivision west of Farwell, where he and another man had been making repairs to her roof. Taylor’s mother reported that her son had borrowed an advance of the payment for the work to “take care of some court costs” from his 2006 arrest.

According to the police reports, Taylor’s mother said he never returned to finish the work. Wilson said the court costs were never paid.

Since June of 2007 there is no record of Taylor’s whereabouts, no use of any credit cards in his name, no bank business and no use of the man’s Social Security number.

“It is very strange,” Wilson said. “If anybody out there has any information, we ask them to please call us. It is very odd that he hasn’t had any contact with his family in over two years.”

Through the course of the investigation, detectives have not been able to uncover any leads that would indicate the whereabouts of Taylor.

The Clare County Sheriff’s Department Detective Division, along with the Michigan State Police Detective Division are asking if anyone has information in the whereabouts of Timothy Taylor to contact the Clare County Sheriff’s Department at (989) 539-7166 or the Michi9gan State Police Post in Mt. Pleasant at (989) 773-5951.

The Clare County Sheriff's Department is seeking assistance from the public in their search for a Farwell area man who has been missing for two years.

Timothey Todd Taylor, who was 41, was reported missing by his mother June 15.

He was last seen leaving his home, where he lived with his mother in the Oakridge subdivision west of Farwell, in 2007.

Taylor's mother apparently waited to report him missing because she held out hope that he would come home, Clare County Sheriff's Detective Mike Coon said.

His family has reported that since he left the home, he has not been seen or heard from, Sheriff John Wilson said.

Through the course of their investigation, detectives have not been able to uncover any leads that would indicate where Taylor is, Wilson said.

The Clare County Sheriff's Detective Division and Michigan State Police detectives are asking that anyone with information contact the sheriff's department at 989-539-7166 or the state police post in Mt. Pleasant at 989-773-5951.

Michigan man found safe and sound in Georgia after a 6-year absence from Clare County

HARRISON, MI — A Michigan man for whom police have searched during the past four years has turned up safe and sound.

Timothy Taylor is safe in southern Georgia, according to a press release from the Clare County Sheriff's Department. It is the first time family members have learned of his whereabouts since 2007.

Taylor's mother reported her son missing in 2009, two years after the last time she had any contact with him. Taylor had worked for a traveling circus, spending prolonged periods of time away from home.

He was last seen in Michigan in 2007, leaving a home in the Oakridge subdivision west of Farwell, where he lived with his mother.

Taylor had contact with family members after local law enforcement's latest attempt to find the man took them to a Clare County pond.

Clare County Sheriff John Wilson said he would like to thank everyone who provided tips in the case.
