Serial-killer Henry Lee Lucas lived in Elkton, Maryland, which is very close to the area where the remains were found. Investigators also found that writings Lucas made while he was serving time in a Texas prison have many similarities to the information that was found at the scene.
It was discovered that Henry Lucas claimed to have brought a female from Michigan to Delaware and left her body here. In 1983, Lucas confessed to killing 6 women in Delaware, but he later denied that claim.

It was discovered that Serial-killer Henry Lee Lucas lived in Elkton, Maryland, which is very close to the area where the remains were found. Investigators also found that writings Lucas made while he was serving time in a Texas prison have many similarities to the crime scene and information that was developed.
It was also discovered that Henry Lucas claimed to have brought a female from Michigan to Delaware and left her body here. In 1983, Lucas confessed to killing 6 women in Delaware, but he later recanted.

Buzz up!Twitter Below are six facial reconstructions made from skulls found in Delaware over the last 32 years.

1. TOWNSEND AREA, June 1977
Woman's nude, partly skeletonized corpse found face down in a wooded area with high weeds off Union Church Road, in an area where neighbors had complained of a foul smell for about a month.

She was white, 40-50 years old, 95 to 105 pounds, about 5-foot-3 and had blond hair.

She had given birth two or three times, the coroner concluded, and had dental work of poor quality.

The cause of death was labeled an apparent homicide.

Reconstruction done about 1978.

2. WILMINGTON, April 1978
Man's skeleton found on a black rubber car mat and pink throw rug at a dump site in the 600 block of Terminal Ave., off the Christina River in April 1978.

His skull, chest and hips were found there, with leg bones and size 32 blue pants about 11 feet away. A blue long-sleeved shirt rolled up to the elbows also was found.

A coroner concluded he died of natural causes.

Authorities believed the remains were those of a Wilmington teen who vanished in 1971, but DNA results were inconclusive.

Reconstruction done about 1979.

3. MARYDEL AREA, September 1985
Woman's skull found in a rural field off Sussex 185 by a construction worker clearing the land.

Police dug three feet down and found her lower jaw.

Because no other bones were found, authorities could not estimate height, weight or other physical characteristics.

No cause of death could be determined.

This year, a forensic artist in New Hampshire created a facial reconstruction and concluded the woman might have been Asian.

After seeing the sculpture, state police reopened their investigation.

4. ODESSA AREA, November 1993
Woman's nude remains found in overgrown field near Odessa, off Del. 9, by a hunter.

She was white, 20-35 years old, with brown hair, stood about 5 feet 1 and might have borne one child, police said.

A coroner estimated the corpse had been in the field for more than three months, but could not determine a cause of death.

State police investigated as a possible homicide.

Her teeth were compared with dental records of nine missing women fitting her description but none were matches.

Reconstruction done in 1994.

5. SANDTOWN, November 1993
Woman's nude skeletal remains found at the base of a 15-foot pit about six miles southwest of Camden-Wyoming.

She had on a black wrist watch and blue barrette.

She was white, 40-plus years old, with brown hair and was 5 feet 3 to 5 feet 8.

Her skeleton showed evidence of arthritis.

The coroner found severe blunt-force injuries to her skull and concluded she was murdered and likely sexually assaulted.

A facial reconstruction was done in 1997, but a new one was completed this year.

6. WILMINGTON, January 2002
Woman's partially mummified remains found by workers boarding up a vacant home in the 1400 block of W. Third St.

She was wearing a gray long-sleeve Ralph Lauren shirt with the Polo Jeans Company logo on the left sleeve, black "Results" jeans and size 4 Timberland boots.

She was black, 20 to 40 years old, about 5 feet 5.

A coroner could not determine primary cause of death but concluded an adverse reaction to cocaine was a contributing factor.

Reconstruction done in 2003.
