Mason County Jail officials say a man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of skeletal remains found in Fleming County.

An arrest warrant says that Mariano Arias committed two acts of murder on Sept. 1, 2010 in Fleming County.

A human skull was discovered in an an area off Delaney Road back on April 27. A few days later, officials found more bones in the area and said they were the remains of two different people.

Police said back in May that state medical examiners determined one set of bones belonged to a Hispanic female, age 17 to 25. She was approximately 5-feet tall. The second set of bones belonged to a male standing about 5-foot-5, also 17-25 years old. The second person was either white or Hispanic, and investigators say they lean toward Hispanic.

Police say both bodies had been in the area from four to 36 months.
