The finding of an unidentified infan's body in the Pascagola River this week has tugged at the heart strings of Jackson county."Everyone is concerned and people are coming together to do anything they can" saud Jackson Co, Medical Examiner David Miller. Through the efforts ofmany people in the area, the infant, estimated to be between three and five weeks old, will be buried at 2p.m. on Saturday>Holder-Wells Funeral Home of Moss Point and O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home of Pascagoula are jointly donating and coordinating the graveside service at Jackson County Memorial Park at the east end of Ingalls Ave. in Pascagoula. Jackson County sheriff's deputies will be pallbearers. Miller said the services are open to the public. The child will be buried as Baby Jane, or officially as female infant unknown, Miller explained. A change in state laws prohibits people being buried as Jane or John Doe, because these may be the official names of a person. Fisherman found the baby's body on Tuesday along the Pascagoula Rrriver in the vicinity of Parker's Lake. An autopsy was conducted by a Louisiana forensic pathologist Thursday and efforts are being made to identify the child through footprints.
