The victim is believed to have been deceased for up to eight years prior to discovery. Cause of death has been determined to be blunt force trauma to the head.

The victim was located by surveyors on June 18, 2001 on Camp Shelby land on US Forestry property, approximately 1 mile off Red Hill Road on DeSoto National Forest land in a wooded area off Woods Road. Animal activity had spread the skeletal remains over a large area.
