According to a Marshall Police Department press release, Beverly Meadows, 48, vanished from Community Care Nursing Home, 207 W. Merritt St., Dec. 26 sometime between 7 and 8 p.m. (ENLARGE) Beverly Meadows Ms. Meadows, a white female, is 5-feet 3-inches tall, has grey and black hair and weighs about 240 pounds. She has no family members residing in Marshall, but her mother lives in Shreveport, La. She also may have family members living in Elysian Fields and Florien, La., police officials say. MPD Sgt. Darryl Griffin said MPD Criminal Investigation Division Lt. Patrick Clayton is working the case and has contacted family members of Ms. Meadows. "We're searching tenant houses. http://www.marshallnewsmessenger.com/news/...eb_meadows.html Mother keeps hope alive for daughter's safe return Click-2-Listen By Sandra Cason, News Messenger Sunday, June 07, 2009 While news of a woman's body being found in a mud pit at a well site earlier this week was, no doubt, a shock to many people, the impact was intensified for Liz Lingenfelter. "I saw it on the (television) screen and I was shocked," the Shreveport, La., resident said. "Then I said to myself, 'Oh, no, she doesn't have any tattoos.'" The mother of a woman who has been missing since the early evening hours of Dec. 26, 2008, Ms. Lingenfelter said she reacts to every report that might in any way be related to her daughter. "Every day you go through shock. You listen to the news; read reports. She's been gone 160 days today," Ms. Lingenfelter said on Thursday. Beverly Meadows was 48 when she walked away from Community Care Nursing Home, 207 W. Merritt St. in Marshall and would have turned 49 five days later on Dec. 31. She has not been seen since. A reward of $2,500, offered immediately for information on Ms. Meadows' whereabouts has generated no clues, said Marshall Police Department's Lt. Patrick Clayton. "No new leads have developed at all," Clayton said, adding that the possibility of the body found at a secluded drilling site on Bill Coleman Road being that of Ms. Meadows was ruled out immediately. Although the body was initially said to be that of a white female between the ages of 20 and 30, later reports established that the woman was a "light-skinned" African American. Harrison County Sheriff's Office on Friday identified the body as being Lashun Rena Jenkins, 30, a resident of 701 Atkins Blvd. at the time of her death. "I think there just hasn't been enough information out there," Ms. Lingenfelter said of her daughter. "I want people to know she's still missing and I'm still looking for her every day. I drive up and down Marshall streets. I'm still reaching out — trying to find her." Ms. Lingenfelter said she attended a function on Caddo Lake recently. "I wore a black hat out there. I have two pictures of her on that hat that are as big as I could get them. "I call Detective Clayton so much he recognizes my voice," she added. "It's a constant ache that will not go away. It's agony. "This Mother's Day was the hardest day I ever got through," Ms. Lingenfelter said. "Last Mother's Day, Beverly had given me a boquet of flowers. I took a picture of her with it and now that picture is on the missing persons Web site. "All I think of every day is what she did and what she said. I can't think of anybody who would say she was not good. Some say heaven is reserved for a few people and, if it is true that there are only a few slots in heaven, I know she'll get one." At the time of her disappearance, Ms. Meadows was described as a white female, 5-feet 3-inches tall, having graying black hair and weighing about 240 pounds. She is believed to have left the facility wearing a blue T-shirt with a Harley-Davidson emblem on the front, blue jeans and flip flops. Ms. Meadows was said to have suffered from asthma, diabetes and emotional problems and was required to take medication daily. She took no personal belongings or prescription drugs with her when she left the nursing home. Police initially searched businesses and buildings in the vicinity and while it is not known why Ms. Meadows left the facility, speculation is that she may have determined she would walk to a relative's home in Elysian Fields. She had no family living in Marshall. Ms. Lingenfelter said anyone with information on her daughter's whereabouts may contact her at 318-687-3653. Other contact information is Lt. Clayton, 903-935-4546; Community Care Nursing Home, 903-938-3793; Marshall Police Department, 903-935-4576 or 903-935-4575 after usual business hours. Information on Ms. Meadows may be found on national missing persons Web sites, including www.helpfindthemissing.org and www.projectjason.org.
