http://www.13wham.com/news/local/story.asp...27-3C8D8B895F00 Anniversary of Sollie Disappearance Last Update: 5/23/2006 7:49:32 PM (Macedon, N.Y.) – Tuesday marked the 12-year anniversary of the disappearance of a pregnant Wayne County woman. Sandra Sollie was seven and a half months pregnant when she vanished. The last place she was seen was at a shopping plaza in Macedon. Police later found her purse and wallet in Rochester. Sollie’s nephew says the family is still searching for answers. "In my heart I believe she's not alive, but I just want to know,” said Christopher Glow. “We come from a large Italian family and a lot of us are broken emotionally over this." Sollie’s family believes her case didn’t get the attention it deserved, because 4-year-old Kalie Poulton disappeared the same day. Sollie’s case is still open and is being handled by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department. |

A request from cold cases My name is Richard C. Ingraham (Investigations). I am located in Rochester, NY (Upstate). I have been working on a Pro-bono case since 1996 to assist the family of Sandra Sollie. She just disappeared with her small dog in 1994. She was 38 years old and seven and a half months pregnant I got the case reopened by the NYS Police due to my media attention at that time. Every year I have gone out on her anniversary missing date and handed out flyers, talked to people, and got media coverage in an attempt to keep it active to the public and Law Enforcement. Now it is getting very cold again. I am planning on contacting the local newspaper (Democrat & Chronicle), and seeing if I can arrange a large article on this subject. I ha been working quite well with the NYS Police in the past but now they seem "too busy" with other cases. In the past I have had her put on Americas Most Wanted web-site but they would not do a story on her on TV. I need all the help and media coverage on this that I can get. I pray that I can get closure for the family before I leave this world. I am not getting any younger. If her remains could be found, that would give some closure. The police and I believe that we know who killed her (yes, I just know she is deceased), but we have no evidence. I followed up many leads and tips but nothing has developed. If anyone out there has some ideas that would help or some "pull" with the national TV programs, I would appreciate hearing from you. I thank you all in advance and hope to hear from some of you with fresh ideas, etc. Keep up the good work that you all have been doing. Good luck and God Bless all. RICHARD C. Search for missing Macedon woman continues after 14 years Sollie was seven months pregnant when she disappeared 14 years ago Kate Perry • Staff writer • KPERRY@DemocratandChronicle.com May 23, 2008 MACEDON — When Sandra Sollie walked out of her Macedon apartment 14 years ago today, she left behind a mystery. Clothes filled her closet and prenatal appointments dotted her calendar. Her poodle Jessie's dish was full and her car was in the driveway. But neither she nor Jessie ever came home and there's been no trace of them since June 1994. Sollie was 38, seven months pregnant and living alone in a duplex on Route 350 when she disappeared. Family members say she was excited for the future. "She was really happy about the baby," said her sister Donna Neth of Batavia. Sollie had already named the child Brandon Michael. At the time of her disappearance, Sollie was on disability leave from Eastman Kodak Co. because of a head injury. The sadness of the anniversary is deeper this year for Sollie's family. Sollie and Neth's mother, Nancy Cervone, died in January. Today, Private Investigator Richard Ingraham marks the anniversary as he has for a decade — by distributing missing posters in Macedon. With the help of missing persons advocates, the posters are hanging as far away as England. Ingraham feels the key to the case is closer to home. "I have a rule: Always look at the in-laws before you look at the outlaws in a case like this," he said. "It's always someone close." State Police Investigator Tom Crowley couldn't confirm whether there is a main suspect in the case. Early on, police interviewed Sollie's ex-husband, Ralph Sollie Jr., at length. Eventually, Crowley said, he became uncooperative and retained an attorney to field police interview requests. Neth said her sister told her before disappearing that Ralph Sollie Jr. fathered the baby. Four attempts to reach Ralph Sollie Jr. at his home this week, through a relative and an attorney, failed. Sandra Sollie was last seen on the afternoon of May 23, 1994, by an elderly friend, Ed Miller, whom she used to drive on errands, Crowley said. She was reported missing June 2 by her landlord after failing to pay rent. Police checked her apartment and found nothing out of place. Around the same time, Jessie's tags were found in a trash can at a Penfield car wash and police discovered that Sollie's credit cards had been used. Investigators found Sollie's wallet had been dumped in the city but concluded that the cards' users weren't involved in the disappearance. Tips in the case have been plentiful but not very fruitful. Crowley said authorities are depending on new ones to make progress in the case. "In most older cases like this, we concentrate on DNA, but in this case I think it will be someone calling us with information," he said. "I believe there are people out there with information." Neth said she knows someone out there can help. "I feel that somebody knows where she is, but they are not telling us," she said. "We need it for closure." |

http://www.mpnnow.com/news/x1946831533/Fou...till-no-closure Fourteen years, still no closure By Jessica Pierce, staff writer Daily Messenger Fri May 23, 2008, 10:09 AM EDT Macedon, N.Y. - The caller sounded nervous, and he talked fast. So fast, in fact, that private investigator Richard Ingraham didn’t have time to write down what he had said when the man called his cell phone just after 2 p.m. May 30, 2007. The man told Ingraham he knew a person in Palmyra who had first-hand information about who killed Sandra Cervone-Sollie, a woman from Macedon whom Ingraham has been searching for tirelessly for the past 12 years. “He said, ‘I’m only gonna say this once. I know a guy who knows who killed her,’” Ingraham said. The man hung up before Ingraham could write down what he had said. The sound of traffic and static on the phone made it hard to hear. Ingraham would have called the tipster back, but a telephone number was not listed on his caller ID. “He was real nervous, like he was afraid to get involved,” Ingraham recalled. He is hoping that the caller will resurface, with information that might at last bring closure to Cervone-Sollie’s loved ones. “I’m pleading with this person to please call me back,” Ingraham said. The 38-year-old divorcee, who was six and a half months pregnant, was last seen at the former Ames store on Route 31 in Macedon on this day 14 years ago. Her Honda was found parked outside her apartment on Route 350, but there were few clues. Her beloved poodle, Jessie, vanished, too. Early on, police thought they had a break in the case when her credit cards were used to buy approximately $1,000 worth of merchandise at various Rochester stores. But the four suspects said they got the cards from a boy who found Cervone-Sollie’s wallet on North Street. There have been other leads over the years, but they haven’t panned out, either. She and her unborn infant, whom she planned to name Brandon Michael, are presumed dead. On this grim anniversary every year, Ingraham travels from his home in Henrietta to Macedon to hand out missing-person flyers and share Cervone-Sollie’s story with whoever will listen. This year will be no different, but with the Ames store long closed, he had planned to stand at the intersection of Main Street and Route 350 most of the day. Ingraham has taken on the case for free, working with state police investigators and with Cervone-Sollie’s relatives. In his quest to find closure, he has taken some unorthodox approaches over the years: Last year, he consulted with Noreen Renier, a psychic from Virginia who was hired in 2002 to work on the high-profile Laci Peterson case. Ingraham had mailed Renier some of Cervone-Sollie’s personal possessions, including a calendar she kept in her apartment. He then had a few telephone conversations with the psychic. He said she offered some good leads, most of which he doesn’t want to divulge yet. He did offer this: Renier saw Cervone-Sollie’s body near water. Also, Cervone-Sollie’s loved ones have also enlisted help on cyberspace, putting a missing-persons page on the social networking Web site, Myspace. There are photos, news clips and a video. The song “Amazing Grace” plays. In the past year, Cervone-Sollie’s mother, Nancy Cervone of Oakfield, passed away. Ingraham had wanted badly for her to leave this earth knowing what had become of her daughter. Ingraham just turned 74, but remains as determined as ever. “I want to get this case closed before I die if I can,” he said. “I promised the family I would.” |
