I'm like a pig in mud looking at that site. I knew how much they had for all Southland teams, so I knew it was coming, but it's still very cool to be ordering things like a Kindle sleeve with the new UNO logo on it! |

PRETTY MUCH everything...except for hats. ![]() And in continuing with a long standing UNO tradition, just about everything is available in either royal blue or navy blue. GO AWAY NAVY BLUE. I do like that everything on that site is consistent with the new marks. UNO's new store has things with different styles and fonts, inconsistent with the pages of new marks and fonts revealed in July. A never ending issue... |

I used to lead the charge against navy UNO gear. That said, the new logo is both navy and royal and thus looks good on both colors. Because the logo contains both, it helps royal and navy items that both contain the logo look like they belong together more than our old stuff did. The only new logo item I have thus far is a dark navy (almost looks black) t-shirt I bought from the bookstore. I bought that one because they had the navy blue portion of the logo blank (so that it showed the color of the shirt underneath). The logo therefore didn't quite look right (or stand out as much) on the royal shirts. These seem to be the ones: ![]() Hmm... I found that what seems to be the university bookstore's website now includes new-logo merch including hats, though you won't be pleased to find that the only one that features the new logo on the front is navy. Here's that site: http://www.bkstr.com/Home/10001-307905-1?demoKey=d ![]() . . . Last night, I bought $150 worth of UNO new-logo gear from the Southland store. Kindle sleeve, royal fleece jacket with embroidered logo, royal long-sleeved t-shirt for me, gray short-sleeved t-shirt for my son, coffee travel mug, double-walled tumbler, car magnet. Would have bought it directly from the UNO store had much of that been for sale there. P6 |

Some of the navy gear does look real nice, but you know my issue has always been continuity. Most of the UNO fan base (certainly students) wont wear UNO gear to the games. That's the first problem. But my problem with the navy being used is that when a group of UNO fans is sitting together you'd have no idea they were all supporting the same team with all the different colors we keep using on official gear. Walk into Diddle Arena at WKU and EVERYONE is wearing the exact same shade of red. I realize trying to compare UNO and WKU fanbases is silly, but we have to start somewhere. It seems as we try to build a fanbase putting as many of them as possible in the same color gear would be a good idea. |

On the subject of gear, UNOPrivatr noticed a really cool thing UCA was doing. Let me know if I'm getting details wrong, but I believe they had an offer for UCA students, rather than having to buy UCA stuff, to turn in other schools' gear in exchange for UCA stuff. Would be neat if we tried something like this on campus given the dominance of LSU (and even other) gear on UNO's campus, though I'm sure a lot of our students wouldn't take that deal. And of course I'm sure financially we might not be keen on this, but still... |

The "get a single blue" thing is something I've been preaching for years, too, as you know. As big of a problem as royal/navy has been using different shades of royal. I'd buy two UNO royal blue items that looked terrible next to each other as they were so different. As for navy, it seems having a logo with both blues in it has softened me a bit. Speaking of navy/royal fan confusion, I just turned on the BYU v. Boise State game. Some BYU fans are in royal, some in navy. Their uniforms seem to have gone from royal to navy. Now: ![]() Old: ![]() Fans in every kind of blue!

FYI, the new logo merch has disappeared from that site. You can still get to individual items if you have the direct link, but only generic items now show up at the main site page and there are no clothing categories listed and there is no search function. |

An update on my order with the Southland Store: My order was delayed for over a week because two of my items were out of stock and they ship your order complete. If I didn't want to wait, my option was to have them remove the out-of-stock items from the order, they'd ship what remained, and I could order the deleted items later (thus paying shipping again). Their rep was very pleasant (called and emailed with the news). Anyway, my items arrived today and look good. The fairly large new-logo magnet is going to look good on the back of the car. I'll be wearing my royal fleece with an embroidered new logo to work tomorrow and will give my long-sleeved royal new-logo t-shirt a run-out at the George Mason v. American game tomorrow night! I emailed the rep who had been in contact with me about the delay and asked her if they were going to have hats, basketball jerseys (the Southland site offers personalized football and basketball jerseys for some schools), and flags/wall hangings for UNO. She responded that she was told that hats and jerseys are coming soon, but she had no word on flags. She gave no date, but asked me to keep checking the site. |

Here's a question for those at the game last night: Is there any place to buy this stuff at the game, or should I just feed the online beast? Just curious. |

You mean it would be a good idea to sell merchandise featuring your new logo at the first game of the season? Who knew??? No. There was absolutely no merchandise for sale last night. |

I don't know for sure but I would suspect the department would rather not spend money on product that they would have to store, provide man power to sell, etc. That being said there is a good selection on the Southland site. |

Surely they can make a profit on new logo merch. Sorry for the age-old rant, but... Even if they cannot, I say the same thing about that that I do about having multiple concession stands open, etc. You have to spend money to make money and you have to feel like a legitimate college basketball program if you want people to treat you and support you like a legitimate college basketball program. If someone comes to a game and they do not get what they expect from a "college basketball game experience," they are less likely to come back often or at all. You have to staff the concession stands, you have to sell merchandise, you should have a band (school band = better, brass band = uniquely New Orleans acceptable substitute), etc. If you're going to staff and run your game-day experience like you're in the Chamber (few concessions, etc.), you might as well play in the Chamber... and in the Gulf South Conference. |

There will be merchandise available at the rest of the games. It is being handled by the new licensee that runs the bookstore. |

It's pure insanity to unveil a new logo, make a HUGE deal of the new logo, then not sell any merchandise at the first game. It's not like we can go to any Academy or WalMart and get the new stuff. UNO Athletic events, and probably the UNO Bookstore on campus, are the only places on Earth a fan can go look at, touch, try on, new stuff and make purchases. And, last night at least, you couldn't even do it at a UNO athletic event. There may be excuses as to why there was nothing available, but I can't think of a single one that would qualify as a good excuse. That Southland store looks fantastic and they will certainly be getting an order from me sooner than later. I would just rather the money go directly to UNO either in person at the Arena or on UNO's own online store. We can't have football until everything else is "in good shape" but the profit potential of selling all new merchandise after a rebrand has so far been ignored. Doesn't make sense to me. |

Good to hear. It's still a shame what is likely to be the largest crowd we get all year didn't have the ability to spend a few extra bucks last night. |

I guess not much has changed in the last few years after all? Did they not learn anything from the experience of almost losing a program, a conference, d1? I was given the impression that things were going to be run differently yet from what I'm reading on this thread, it might as well be 2004. |
