Wow, it feels good to blow out a Division I opponent. Lamar is woeful, but it has been several years since UNO has done what used to be an almost-every-game occurrence -- run another D1 team out of Lakefront Arena.

With Derenbecker gone, Cory Dixon in foul trouble in the first half, and Gill out with a concussion, UNO had some guys really step up. Kevin Hill was awesome, 17 pts/12 rebs. James Harrison had a career-high 11 as well. Syon gave us some good minutes. Lot of the supporting cast stepped up nicely. Good one for ESPN3 except for the crowd, which was pretty much nonexistent. Was hoping for more students wanting to get on ESPN.

Just like old times. That was fun. I forgot what a legitimate D-1 blow out felt like. I don't care if Lamar is having a down season.

I enjoyed the second half because it looked like the players were enjoying it. But the first half? Jeessh. And while most of the stats look pretty good, 60% from the ft line absolutely has to change, but it won't this year. That will (and has) lose you some games.

I'm not expecting a win tomorrow night but I sure hope we can compete. I think this game might be a good test to see where we are right now.
