Too bad Louisiana doesn't produce any good baseball prospects anymore...
Lot of out of state players.

16 of the 35 baseball players on the UNO roster are listed as coming from Louisiana. Historically, there have been many years in the past where UNO has had less than that. By comparison, Tulane has 10 of 36 Louisiana players on their roster.

If they represent the school well I don't care if they come from Mars. Introducing new people into our community is a good thing.

When I was at UNO, it seemed we always had more out-of-state players than Tulane, something you might think would be reversed.

On a different note:

http://www.unoprivateers.com/news/2014/8/2...0825140702.aspx

"The New Orleans Privateers baseball team has added Anthony Brown to the coaching staff as volunteer assistant . . . ."

"Brown played football while attending South Alabama. He also played the 2007 baseball season at Northwest Florida State College. Brown was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 23rd round of the 2006 MLB Draft and was signed in '07 as a Draft and Follow. Brown spent three seasons in the Reds organization and drove in 104 runs."

The article says he is pursuing a Masters at Public Administration (presumably at UNO).

It's hard to believe South Al has had football long enough for ex-football players to be on our (baseball) coaching staff!
