HPC looked really nice tonight. The University had the "new" logo painted on each wall behind the backboard and it really looks good. The gym walls had been painted and they got rid of the harsh white and the light blue band (Loaded with dust). They also had four banners on the rails that had only part of the "Privateer" face but they looked mean and intimidating. (Looked like 4 Defensive lineman....I mentioned that to Derek......Just couldn't help myself.) I must compliment the athletic department and administration on a job well done. As far as the volleyball team. I can say the talent is up graded over last season. Games 1 and 3 were run away games but UNO came from behind to win the 2nd game. While never far behind the team hustled and eventually pulled past the MVSU team. Nice crowd. Dr. Fos, Maes, Sless and many of the athletes were in attendance. A number of students were also there. Sless was upbeat about the season and the 3 commitments we have so far. GO PRIVATEERS!!! |

The season is five days old and the ladies are one win away from matching last year's win total. Of course that doesn't say much for last year, but it's a process. One step at a time. I'm proud of Coach V and the girls and very much looking forward to making it to Saturday afternoon's home match. |

Nice student crowd at the HPC tonight. They really need to add more lights as it is really sub par for a college volleyball facility. That is the bad news. The good news is that the team hustles and is young. I can see a lot of potential with this squad moving forward. Overall it as a good effort by the ladies. Won't make the Saturday game unfortunately. GO PRIVATEERS!! |
