Loses at home by double digits to D2 West Alabama, 66-54. I know they scheduled this one in the hopes of getting off to a 1-0 start after an 0-29 season, but watching last year's team I always thought they'd have a 50/50 shot at best, even at home, against a D2 team. Seems like things haven't changed much.

How are they going to get girls to want to come play here? This is really awful since they have not been competitive since I was in school....wait, that can't be possible.

Seriously, this is pathetic.

UNO shot 33.3% from the free throw line. That's disturbing. To miss 18 points on uncontested free throws is almost a guarantee to lose. And 20 turnovers didn't help.

A question: there are 19 players on the roster, but 6 sat on the bench not in uniform. Is this some NCAA rule, or do we have that many injuries already?

Coach Sless was riding the officials in the 2nd half, as one official was making all the calls, regardless of position. From mid-court he could see all the fouls under the basket.

West Alabama finished last (11th) in the Gulf South Conference last season, going 2-18 in conference play and 5-22 overall. They were also 0-12 in away games last season.

UNO didn't just lose to a D2 team, they lost to a very bad D2 team, if last year's record is any reflection on this year's West Alabama team.
