Johnny doing very well since his return. Their last 4 games are against the Rangers. I will try and go Saturday or Sunday.

Johnny hit a two run home run to deep center in tonight's game.

Which put the Angels ahead 4-3 in the sixth. Then he was replaced for defense. And his defensive replacement Featherston botched the first ball hit to him, opening the door for three unearned runs and the Angels lost a huge game.

In fairness Johnny had an error earlier in the night that led to another three unearned runs. Angels had 4 errors in total tonight. A mess against a lousy team playing out the string and pretty much trying to lose.

And Johnny gets a national story after a gruesome play.

Rougned Odor, who committed the bad slide, is a nephew of ex-UNO shortstop Rouglas Odor.

I did not know that! That is cool, I remember Rouglas Odor well. No bat, AMAZING glove. I mean, probably the best I can remember for a UNO shortstop (although Sammy Cooper was pretty solid too).

Angels season ended as they got bombed in the season finale by the Rangers. Johnny had an incredible final nine days to the season. He certainly did more than his part. Finishes at .272. Solid year and proved he is an everyday major league second baseman. Not a star or even exceptionally good, but there aren't 30 better in the world either.

The funny thing is, he's a hitting coach now, currently in AAA! He managed for several years at lower levels of the Indians' organization and is currently a hitting coach the Cleveland's AAA affilliate in Columbus.

He was one of the starters on the great UNO team from my freshman and sophomore years.
