Super tight game (25-22, 25-22, 25-23) but a sweep for the Privateers! Congrats to the team and Coach Van Norden on the impressive strides the program is making!

The volleyball team beat McNeese (3-1) and Nicholls (3-0) on back to back afternoons at the HPE Center to improve to 15-13 on the season. Congratulations ladies! Congratulations too to Coach Van Norden on her 200th career victory!

That gives them a 4-7 mark in league play, currently ahead of three teams in the league (Northwestern State 4-9, Lamar 3-8, Nicholls 1-11).

I believe 8 teams make the post-season tournament and, while we're currently 10th, two of the teams ahead of us (UIW and Abilene Christian) are listed as not yet eligible, so we're in the hunt for a tournament berth with five league games to go.

Make that a six match winning streak as UNO beat Sam Houston State (3-0) this afternoon at the lakefront. The women improve to 7-7 in conference and 18-13 overall. SHS falls to 6-8 in conference. This is the first win against SHS in 14 tries. Congratulations ladies!

Privateer Volleyball season ends today at the SLC Tournament with a 3-1 loss to McNeese. Big strides this year. Hopefully Coach Van Norden can pull in a couple more recruits to continue the improvement.
