The pre-season magazines are beginning to hit the stands. I picked up the combined college/pro preview magazine by Sporting News. They predict the Privateers will finish 10th of 13 in the Southland, noting that three of four double-digit scorers from last season return, "so improvement is expected." Sporting News' Soutland Conference prediction: 1. Stephen F. Austin 2. Northwestern State 3. Corpus Christi 4. Sam Houston State 5. Southeastern Louisiana 6. McNeese State 7. Incarnate Word * 8. Houston Baptist 9. Lamar 10. New Orleans 11. Nicholls 12. Abilene Christian * 13. Central Arkansas ** * banned from post-season due to transition from D2 ** banned from post-season due to APR penalties On the NBA side, they pick the Pelicans to finish fourth in their division (ahead of Dallas), while my Wizards are picked for third in the Southeast. |

First I gotta say, will Incarnate Word EVER get a chance to play post season? (I don't follow this stuff at all so I really don't know what I'm talking about) and 2) I think we'll finish ahead of McNeese state AND upset SFA this year??? and I really have no idea what I'm talking about |

Just ordered my season tickets. Hope to see many of you there. Only 12 home games this year so I hope I can make them all. |

Here CBS ranks all D1 college basketball teams from 1-351. Actually 269 is not a bad placement for UNO considering usually national sites just look at where you finished last year and pretty much put you right back there again. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball...team-from-1-351 Their Southland rankings: 46. Stephen F. Austin 154. Northwestern State 186. Texas A&M-CC 204. Sam Houston 210. Incarnate Word 269. New Orleans 306. McNeese State 314. Lamar 327. Houston Baptist 329. SLU 333. Nicholls 340. Abilene Christian 342. Central Arkansas |

Upper half of the league would be a nice step in the right direction. |

If we happen to finish 6th in the league and make the Conference Tournament again I will look at that as the program moving forward. |
