I didn't watch or hear this game (regret that now since I wasted 4 hrs of my life watching that awful saints crap fest last night)...but I'm wondering what must've happened to UNO since they seemed to be hanging in there all game and lost it late? If this team learns how to finish, they may just surprise us. Close games against avg ULL and UMASS teams are not great but better than some of us expected, no? No moral victories, just looking for some sunshine in this nasty, miserable weather....and among a slew of awful sports seasons here locally,. |

I didn't listen to any of the game either since I was at the Dome last night. I was actually surprised by the score and then more so when I read the game story on the Island. I will never be happy with close games but these non conference games have me believing that if we can have consistent energy throughout the SLC schedule and finish around the rim at least 50% of the time we might have a shot to make some noise in the league. We all need to see the progress continue. |

Agreed, NS. And.........since the southland seems to be a tad down this year (or maybe its' just more parity?) that makes me think we may be able to take a step forward. But, we'll have to do better 1) with layups, 2) with fts (last game showed possible improvement, consistency needed) and 3) late game defensive stops. |

Not to put a damper on things, but ULL did not play Shawn Long, their tall center, until the second half. Still, UNO kept it close and actually had a 67-64 lead with 5:44 to go. Then, UNO's shooting went cold, and ULL pulled away at the end. Long had 13 points in the second half. Next year, Long will be long gone, and ULL plays at UNO. Payback time! From what I'm seeing, UNO is better than last year and should make some waves in the Southland. |
