Note that the game tonight against Stephen F. Austin begins at 8:05 P.M. according to the UNO Athletics website. It's being televised on the American Sports Network. |

It would have been nice to hear from the department about the change in time. I busted my butt to get there and was surprised that we couldn't get in until 7 pm. Disappointed With that and how we played tonight. Maybe I am old school but the warm up prior to the start of the game reminds me of either a street ball or slam dunk competition. I haven't seen an opponent warm up that way. Just my opinion but it doesn't seem to get the team focused for the start of the game. |

First, it¡¦s obvious the last 4 games we¡¦ve played are against what seems to be the better teams in the conf so far this year¡K¡K..but we¡¦ve had 3 of them at home and couldn¡¦t/didn¡¦t take advantage of that, such that it is. But this was like watching Tulane play the saints¡K¡K.just outclassed by a million degrees. The difference in these 2 programs is more than can be explained in one post¡Kso I¡¦ll save yall the pain. And much like last year when conf play started, the privateers seem to regress and badly. The little things like stepping on the line, throwing the ball away, missing open shots, etc¡K.all the things that MUST be done to be successful, we¡¦re not doing it. Almost like street ball on offense. But to go 0-3 on this home stand to me is just unforgivable. No excuse. When you have the guys you say you want and you¡¦re 3 yrs in with that core in your 5 year stead, you can¡¦t play the way you¡¦ve been playing. You can¡¦t do this if you want to contend in ANY conference. And even tho these are the best of the conf, you have to find a way to win the close ones. 2-1 would¡¦ve been more than satisfactory. It seems the wheels came off after losing to SHS after playing a decent game¡Kand the confidence level has gone down since. Still, this team gave it a shot, cut it down to 7 tonite and then the axle broke and the wagon crashed. I thought Jude Young asked a good question, ¡§where¡¦s the offense from our guards¡¨? But ¡§we gotta do a better job of executing¡¨¡K..hear that after every game. INDEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And if ALL the other Southland teams don¡¦t go 100% zone against us, shame on em. As much as it hurts to have to say this, I really don¡¦t think Frye is the answer at PG. Yet there¡¦s no one else here to do it. This team needs so much help that it¡¦s really a lost cause. Likely we¡¦ll get into the tourney, which is good, but it¡¦s just a formality. I¡¦m just hoping that when we start playing the ¡¥other bad teams¡¦ we can find ways to sweep them to make all of this look better than it is. PS. 2nd time this year the privateers topped 70+ % ft¡¦s ƒº Had they done that Sat night¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K¡K |

When your starting guards shoot 6 for 24, you know you're in for a long night. We just don't shoot the ball very well. I guess that's why we attempt so many driving, sometimes crazy, layups. Unfortunately, that also leads to a lot of turnovers. I'd like to see Kevin Hill play more, as he does have a decent jump shot, but I won't second guess the reason why his minutes are limited. You have to give SFA credit. They played very, very well, eccept for a short stretch in the second half when we had an opportunity to narrow the deficit but couldn't. Their guard, Floyd, was on fire. He's the best player I've seen this year at home. We could not guard him. |

Not a great performance, but this was always going to be a tough one. I was able to see the game. It was incorrectly listed on one of my channels (MASN2) for 8-10pm eastern, but it started at 9 and they showed the whole thing. We could easily be 4-1 in conference and, instead, we're 1-4. Ouch. Up next, Corpus Christi will be tough, but whatever happens with that game, we really need to get on a run after that. In the next five after TAMU-CC, we have two against Central Arkansas (1-3), two against McNeese (1-3), and one against Nicholls (1-4). If we're going to finish upper half, a 5-0 or 4-1 run during that crucial stretch will be needed. |

Our two guys that can sort of shoot are Gill (38% overall, 38% 3pt) and Cameron Reed (35% overall, 34% 3pt). Those 3-point percentages aren't terrible but they're not real great either. 2 pt percentages are awful. Although I've actually seen marginal improvement in our passing this year (we've had our share of good passing into the interior ruined by big guys bobbling the pass), it's no comparison to teams that can REALLY pass. And good, crisp, quick passing would make everybody look like better shooters. We'll have our share of wins coming up but our bye chances have gone bye-bye. Can't survive an 0-3 homestand and still finish top four. The Lamar win also continues to look progressively more irrelevant in retrospect. Formerly 2-15 Southeastern 98, Lamar 70. |

Yea I saw that SELU score last night and thought, oh well, there go our chances ![]() I'm still hoping that what P6 posted more clearly than me.......that we can get past this rough patch and win a few in a row. Good news is that most of the 'top' teams we only play once. Bad news is we don't get a chance to 'repay' them AND we had the once thought home field advantage. The silliness, bad decisions and brain farts with this team has to stop. |

I noticed that the top 6 teams in the standings are located in Texas. Throw in Central Arkansas, and the bottom dwellers are all from Louisiana. I wonder if there's some significance there. |
