Mostly encouraging game tonight for UNO even though turnovers are still killing us. Troy Green had 16 points, 8 boards, 6 assists. Kind of a breakout night for him -- he is really starting to find it. He's been solid on the road these last two games.

Had it tied 48-48 before Houston hit four unanswered threes and buried us.

Wasn't necessarily expecting to even be in this one, but then you also want to see them finish one when they're close.

So I profess I didnt' follow Sunday's game at USA or tonite's game due to previous arrangements but it seems like we had a very very late lead at USA but couldn't hold and tonite we were in it in the 2nd half but our youth hurt us? And 3's?

Going to be a tough year if we can't shoot or defend the 3 but at least it may seem, if only for a moment, that we are gettiing better, No?

Perimeter defense seems to be a big problem. Even Spring Hill was nailing 3's on us. Way too many open looks.

It seems this team is still finding its way and has at least 3 guys out. Overall though this has been Sless's most competitive team in non conference. Not sure if that will equal any wins with remaining schedule but usually they get blown out a few times. Would have to think Plaisance Reik and Rosa only make this team better going forward assuming hey will play this year. I have not been to a game but they did look very big and athletic on TV

There should be growing optimism in the potential being shown by the young backcourt. Troy Green appears to be improving as he plays more minutes and is showing signs of being worth his pedigree. Robinson is beginning to look unafraid to launch 3 pointers ad is able to make the shot. Minutes have also gone to Berzat and Rosser as play has improved. These are all underclassmen playing heavy minutes in the backcourt. It bodes well moving forward, but may lead to frustrating results in the near term. These minutes that they are getting in close games against tough competition are very valuable for the program moving forward, even if the turnovers continue to pile up.

I think you make some good observations.........we can be pretty sure that coach is trying out lineups, who can do what better, who can play better with this lineup or that one, who can guard, shoot 3's etc. And he also knows that, while the record won't look good, playing these teams that are at least as good or better than we'll see in the southland is good experience.

And that winning in the conference is all that really matters for UNO.

Its all about jelling. But the few games I've been able to see (Tv or live) I still see some of the same things we all saw the last few years.......and its going to be on my tombstone...........passing and turnovers are killing us.
