I likely can't make it tomorrow night so i'm SELFISHLY hoping that the sun heats the roads enough to dry up everything early so that there is nothing to freeze again.

Southeastern also plays at home tonight and they haven't indicated they're postponing. My guess is that either both or neither will do so but that neither draw enough of a crowd to let fan access be the deciding factor.

UCA plays at home on saturday afternoon so I assume a delay of 1 day wouldn't hurt them.

I'm kinda surprised that already at 1030 this morning, between the sun and strong breeze, my street is about 80% dry now.
But I'm SURE the spots in the shade will remain frozen for at least another day.

It will only be my second missed game in 29 years (the other one was strangely also Central Arkansas). Feels so wrong! Get it done, guys, will be watching from afar.

I don't think I have the opportunity to even choose to take a risk. I-55 is closed, the Bonnet Carre is closed, the Causeway is closed. Not sure any will be opening up today but if they do, I don't feel comfortable that they will remain open when the temp gets back below freezing tonight. Unless UNO will let me sleep at the arena if I need to? I've always thought of it as my home away from home.

The problem is that I'll go slow and drive carefully, but what about everyone else?

Many of us feel that way about the Arena and UNO.

If I were you, having to drive in from Hammond, I would take the safe way out and stay home.

Stay safe.....we need all the Privateer fans we can muster but only if it is safe to move about.

GO PRIVATEERS!!!

Exactly. I wonder this every day. Too many people, and I mean TOO MANY PEOPLE, I see every single day driving with their cell phone in front of their face.

I know that's off topic so I'll just say that I currently plan to attend and will represent as best I can. ;)

The problem is that I'll go slow and drive carefully, but what about everyone else?

Driving to work this morning on an icy, two-lane, Highway 190 on the Northshore, I basically convoyed with a van in front of me, both doing about 30 miles per hour where we could and slowing down through some of the worst ice patches. Keeping a safe distance all the while.

Well, I was shocked at the number of idiots who passed us at incredible high speeds (two-lane road mind you so they got into the oncoming traffic lane to do so).

Passed multiple cars spun out and in ditches.

People are crazy.

The Causeway southbound is open now (45 mph convoy anyway), so there is a theoretical way in if you get creative. 55, much of 10, 610 still closed.

I'm going to have to pass too. Since I use a multitude of roads to get to Lakefront Arena, and they're mostly closed, I'd have to take secondary roads through the city to get there. That's a few too many unknowns for me to handle.

Pull us through reduno if you manage to go!

Decided at the last minute not to go. Officials still saying to stay off the road. Not worth the risk. Anyone else not seeing video on the UNO showcase?

Made it. Not too many here. Roads were not bad. Mostly dry.

About 50 students in attendance.

Clear drive coming in but so far so very sorry I made this decision. Not one good thing tonight so far. Easily the worst half of the year and maybe longer.

Uca is toying with us and we're just playing the Washington team to the globe trotters. Btw, 6 straight turnovers via passing to the other team.

We're getting annialated in the paint

I signed up for UNO Showcase and it didn't register at first. I had to contact tech support to get activated.

Looks like, what, maybe 70% of our normal crowd? Looks like the best student turnout of the year, so it's a shame the Privateers are taking a dump on the court right in front of them. One game of missing a ton of layups and I look the other way, two straight games like this has me concerned. Especially against UCA, who is going to give you a ton of layups and easy opportunities. We're getting lots of them and have missed just about all of them. Even one of the very few we made was actually tipped in by UCA.

Yuck.
