Just a reminder that this game will be shown locally on cox sports CST (Ch 37 or 1037 HD) in the New Orleans area. Not sure about other stations.

Anyone feel like this game will be any different from the first? Will they find a way to tone down the Russian guy who seemed to alter any and every shot underneath? Gotta hit from outside to keep him further out. Gotta pass clean.

If no CST, you can download the Southland app on the Roku and stream it to your TV via that.

Coaches obviously ignored last weeks game and never made any defensive adjustments.

Fouls: UNO 6, UIW 1 (and we missed both of those FT's).

We seem to have held them down for quite a few minutes but didn't take enough advantage of it offensively. Besides those FT's missed by Green, we had a bad pass by Travin and then some good outside shots by Charles and Robinson. Gotta get a bit more room.

Getting a little cushion while the russian is out.

Keys to winning: Zeno, shoot less. Charles, shoot more. :$

8 pt lead with 2 mins left in the half and we go scoreless only up by 2 at the half.

Not sure how but its not their big guy giving us fits under the basket in our offense. One guy has 4 blocks. Yet they seem to get to the basket fairly easy in spurts when UIW has the ball. Interior D mostly just not handling them or fouling (which seems to be heavily favoring UIW).

Also, sorry to say that Zeno has been a deficiency on both sides of the ball in the first half. May come down to FTs and our outside shooting staying hot.

On another note, GOOD NEWS: UNO women CRUSH UIW, 72-45. contrats to them, now lets go get 2.

Things I don't understand: how UIW can easily get under the basket and make point blank shots and UNO can't. UIW comes out of the half break very confident and quick.

Things I don't want to see again: Travin and Rosser yelling at each other at the 16 min timeout.

UIW seems to be changing their offense to get the big russian involved again. Don't like the way this half has started.

Mike Zeno is just not having a real good senior season.

Good Zeno is a really nice asset for a winning team and was a critical part of winning the Southland tournament last year, but we've seen a lot more of the turnover machine, jump shooting Bad Zeno this year.

Zeno is a huge liability today. And now the Russian is taking over underneath.

UIW is just quicker and more efficient underneath BOTH sides of the basket.

And we're just getting fouls after fouls. Not all are bad calls.

We're just not making many shots.

UIW is a pretty bad team, but it's hard to see how they haven't even been IN any games (except against us of course) with Kulikov in the middle. He's 7 feet tall and while not fantastic, has some skills.

A 10-0 run puts UNO in control 54-45 with 5 minutes left. Let's see if they can finish it out on the road.

Largest lead at 9 with 5 mins left...can they hold this?
Really need wins against bad teams.

UNO wins 68-58. Nothing to it.

The difference in the game was a 20-8 turnover advantage, and Puou's 18 points. He did play well.

Nice job fighting through a should-win game where they shot poorly from the FT line and from three point range. Red, you got your wish with Puou becoming a monster in the second half and putting the team on his back down the stretch there. Privateers also really stepped up the defense late. Last week at home, women won by 2 and men by 4 at home, this week on the road, women by 27 and men by 10. Is it us, guys? Ha!

Russian goes 2-6 and gets utterly dominated by Pou.

Yes indeed. Travin muscled the first half, Makur the 2nd half.

What I liked most is that while I wondered why coach didn't put Charles in late in the game to try to open up the outside, I believe what he did with the lineup he went with was the key to the win. He went with a tougher defense to close it out. Good choice. I also think his decision to pull Kulikov out from under the basket the last 10 mins really worked. He was starting to change the game for a bit there.

And yes our ft shooting was not good today. This is a game we should have won, no doubt. The last few weeks of the season will be BRUTAL with 2 against SLU and NSU. And lots on the road too.

BTW, watch out for UCA...they are killing NWST on the road.
