Well it seems that teams we would want to lose, didn't...namely NSU and SLU, both won on the road tonite...tho NSU's was close. And UCA continued their mostly winning ways.

Gonna be a lot of score watching the rest of the year.

TAMU has been coming on strong but not much has been said for SHSU.....but they seem to be pretty solid.

The top 5-6 teams will be a tough our.

An odd thurs night game?

I still can't quite get a handle on the Southland scheduling system.......must be due to the odd number of teams. I'd REALLY like to see one more school added so that the schedule would allow playing everyone twice. I think that would be the most equitable way to handle it.

SFA won at McNeese, 99-95 tonight. However, McNeese came back from a 56-32 halftime deficit and outscored SFA, 63-43 in the second half to make it close. We don't seem to do well against high scoring teams.

I don't think SFA is quite as strong as last year nor as good as NSU, UCA, SMSU and maybe even TAMU on a neutral court. But I wouldn't think ANY of these teams aren't capable of winning the conf or tourney.

Ten teams are in striking distance of making the Southland Conference tournament, although I don't think that Abilene Christian is eligible yet. I'm not sure on that one. The best record in the conference is Nicholls at 9-2. We're at 9-3. Both TAMCC and McNeese are at 5-6. We play them both, having won the first game in the home and home.

By the way, the TAMCC game on Saturday night is on ESPN3.

Abilene is eligible. It is their and UIW's first year of eligibility. UIW has had some nice teams during the transition that would've made the conference tournament had they been eligible, but now that they're eligible, they're winless.

Thx, I completely forgot about the tv game.

For me, I'm glad that we have no home games next week as I'll be out of town next week, hoping to get a chance to peek in on the scores while I'm gone.
