Found these little tidbits from the official website story: • With matching records, the SLC tiebreaker is a confusing one. They would go to the highest seeded common opponent that both teams faced twice (?). If standings remained the same, that would be Southeastern Louisiana, making the regular season finale a must-win for the Privateers. Last Saturday's win marked the second time the Privateers scored 90+ this season (2-0). It was the largest home crowd of the season. This is a pretty big game and sadly I'll have to catch it on replay. |

One of those strange nights -- UNO basketball and baseball on the ESPN family of networks simultaneously, UNO/Sam on ESPN3 and UNO/LSU on SEC Network. In fact, all remaining UNO basketball games this season are televised, however long it goes. I give us about a 40/60 shot tonight. It will be tough and more likely than not a loss, but it is doable if we play really well. It is going to be a major challenge to finish better than 12-6. |

Yep, TOUGH final 3 for sure. We sometimes seem to play with more energy and focus on the road for some reason. Maybe a "circle the wagons" thing, but going down 17 on the road is not something this team can usually overcome. Recent games included. |

It appears we're trying to beat Sam Houston with our B team. So far up 13-11. |

Trying to keep up with two UNO games simultaneously, don't understand what's going on in the basketball game. It's been a bizarre game. Matthew Jiles, Charles Bohannon, and Bol Riek getting important minutes in a must-win game while Travin Thibodeaux and Bryson Robinson sit the whole half. Zeke Charles hasn't played either but he was hurt on Saturday. And UNO is only down 2. Anybody listening to Jude? Does he have an explanation? The TV guys certainly don't. They mentioned it was odd Thibodeaux wasn't playing but didn't mention Robinson and I don't think they've followed up on it, nor do they seem that interested. They're kind of missing the story of the game to me which is how UNO's benchwarmers are almost even on the road with Sam in a critical game. |

Now that Galbraith is back on the floor, Sam is getting some separation, now up 37-28. This was only going to last so long. We're trying to win a must-win game with Makur Puou + our bench. Team appears to be somewhat in disarray in general although we have a lot of guys who haven't been getting minutes who are fighting hard. Man. |

Note that Berzat hasn't played either. Four major contributors this season, including our best player, out. Three with no explanation. |

Hate to think that it's due to a disciplinary reason, but if it was, great timing guys! I guess we'll find out sooner or later. Maybe they all have the flu or they're all in Huntsville, Alabama. |

Thanks for the LOL on an otherwise very frustrating night. At least two of them are dressed out. TV guy said Thibodeaux warmed up and looked fine. I don't know what else it could be besides a disciplinary issue. Bizarre. We're going to have to win four games in four nights over this disciplinary issue or whatever it is. Meanwhile LSU is getting some absolutely comical strike calls in Baton Rouge. Grrrrrr Edited by Steve, Feb 21 2018, 08:03 PM.

We lost 57-54. We had a shot to tie the game at the buzzer but missed. With up to 4 starters out; Thibodeaux, Berzat, Charles and Robinson, I commend the players who actually played for keeping it so close. Obviously, with a couple of the missing players playing, we probably win. Missed opportunity for sure. |

No explanation for the missing players in the postgame show. Reading between the lines it seems pretty obvious it was a disciplinary issue that involved a decent chunk of the team. If they don't want us to think that, somebody could've gone ahead and piped up at some point, so I think we have to assume that. Between this and the baseball injuries, UNO appears to almost fetishize keeping information from the few of us diehards, but as best as we can tell that seems to be the deal. Anyway, hope it was worth it because the bye hopes are mostly dead and with it, any realistic shot of postseason. Edited by Steve, Feb 21 2018, 08:47 PM.

As stated in the postgame, it is heartening, at least, that we can send out several guys that have barely played this season and they can play that credibly in a game like this. Doesn't help me get over chucking away such a winnable, critical game, but a good sign going forward. |

Just read the game recap on the Sam Houston State website. No mention at all that four of our key players didn't play in the game. I guess it was a minor detail. |

It's way past the point of insulting our intelligence by everyone involved, but this is how they're approaching it and we'll just wildly speculate because they haven't given us the chance to do otherwise. |

So I'm blind. Just got home and ONLY followed the game at half and final via scores. Was thinking that we hung in there and did the OPPOSITE of usual by staying close early and not holding but reading here and the UNO website has me pissed, quite frankly. If we had 4 guys that did something wrong, NOW ...when its DO OR DIE and they let their fellow players down by being stupid etc, then i say, sit their asses the rest of the season. Tonite was TOO important and it now seems like it was certainly winnable if we had our usual starters. I applaud coach for discipline at a time like this is that's what he had to do but the guys......make them pay for it IF...and again i say IF they did something stupid. As for the school, radio, coach whatever to NOT explain why they didn't play to the fans....that's just flat out effing wrong. We have a right to at least know WHY even if they don't give details. Tell us someone lost a damned leg, an eye at mardi gras, etc but don't just let us sit here and guess. I paid $260 for season tickets and I have an F)*#$ING right to know something, anything. Shame on them for leaving us guessing! This is unforgivable to leave us in the dark. I don't care what excuse they come up with. At least tell us its discipline even if there are no more details than that. Are we to guess that someone left their F****** jock at home? This is flat out wrong. We deserve better than that. As to injuries, I think I read somewhere that Charles hurt himself sat...I don't think so...he didn't even play so unless he hurt himself warming up.......I think he's likely part of the issue. I applaud the bench for making this a game but I think the players that didn't play, IF it's found out they did something to hurt their team, should be punished much harder than just this game. Make them sit the tournament and see what it feels like to watch a loss like we have to. I' m as pissed as I've been since Ryan sodomized the athletic department years ago.
