Scientific Name: Geosuchus sapiéntiæ Meaning: earth crocodile of wisdom Common name: Tree Geocroc Lifespan: 20-30 Age: Hettangian-Callovian Diet: Insectivore/Carnivore Location: Northern South America to Southern North America Habitat: forests, fernlands, and wetlands Description: Looks like its ancestor †Decuriasuchus quartacolonia only 2 times smaller. Males and females look the same and are green with black patterns. They have a more narrowed head than G. velox. Notes: They depend more on trees for nesting than borrowing. Behavior: They hunt in mated pairs, both either jump out of trees at prey or one chases it while the other waits and strikes. They sound more bird-like than G.velox. Breeding Behavior: Mating behavior is the same as G. velox but they find new mates if their current one dies. Males hang by their mouths on trees and who ever can stay on the branch the longest is the one that gets a mate. Edited by the dark phoenix, Jan 9 2014, 10:52 PM.
