Unfortunately, the Stunky wasn't wanting to let anyone past it while it was looking. So, it turned around an faced Suzu, rushing forward and Scratching at her, repeating its threat to the Trainer.
"Stunky!" The Pokemon repeated... it obviously wasn't happy about having the human in its territory... or perhaps... just perhaps it wanted to battle? It certainly seemed like it. The question was, how would Suzu get past it, other than battling?
OOC Your Ralts' still should be able to take this Pokemon. If you really don't want to catch it, then you can still go past it. I had forgotten that psychic moves didn't work on Dark types. I thought it was just a 'not very effective' scenario, rather than 'no effect'. If you really don't want to try, that's fine.
Pokemon Encountered!

Level: 5 Gender: Male Ability: Aftermath Species: Stunky Type: Poison/Dark Moves: Scratch, Focus Energy, Poison Gas Personality: Territorial, honorable.

OOC You misunderstand. Suzu does in fact want this pokemon. Everyone makes mistakes. Especially with so many potential type matchups these days. It's quite easy to forget how things will line up if it involves types you don't often use. Though the backup attack of Shadow Sneak is itself not very effective. >.< I had honestly taken it as a roleplay challenge. Seeing how Suzu, being the most experienced PC on the site(Far as I'm aware anyway. At the very least she's noticeably older.) would react to such a disadvantageous situation. A perfect opportunity to have that experience become as much of a flaw as it is a boon. Speaking of her experience, I really would like to know if one way or the or the other if she can understand what Pokemon are saying, or if Ralts was translating, or if your portrayal of the pokemon just changed in my hiatus.
Suzu is caught completely off guard by the sudden attack. Which tears a string of gashes across the sleeve of her coat. Her hard breathing from the adrenaline rush of the moment makes her all the more thankful for the makeshift filter tied across her face, even if it's nothing more than a placebo effect.
Seeing as going around doesn't appear to be much of an option anymore she sends out her Caterpie. While weaker than Ralts and freshly caught it's actually quite fresh thanks to the surprisingly effective Diplomacy shenanigans earlier.
"Hit it with everything you've got Caterpie! Gunk it's movements up with all the string shot you can muster and it should be easier to avoid. It's going to take everything we've got to overcome this."
At the command Caterpie reels back a bit before launching everything it's got in an all or nothing torrent of sticky webbing in the hopes of gunking Stunky up so much it can't even fight back.
Name: [It's on my to do list!] Level: 2 Gender: Male Ability: Shield Dust Species: Caterpie Type: Bug Moves: Tackle, String Shot Personality: Positive - Laid-back, admires trainers. Negative - Easily terrified, fears feet.

OOC I figure, that the being able to understand Pokemon thing is only for Pokemon that want to be understood. If them saying something is just muttering swears or utterances of an attack, they're not going to talk. But if you're in conversation with them, you'll be able to understand them because they want you to.
The Stunky claws at the ground lightly, its tail up as it hisses lightly and calms itself for a few moments... it closes its eyes, and it begins to glow softly with a light energy, opening its eyes with a more Focused Energy around it, as if it had used that one term to gather it's aura.
As the Caterpie hit it with a String Shot, it tripped over its feet, stumbling in the tangling web of silk, uttering small growls until it finally got free. It turned its body and lifted its tail, but instead of the musky stench of skunk spray, a purple Poison Gas was released, and it wafted towards Caterpie.

OOC That makes a lot of sense actually. Thanks for clearing it up.
Suzu flinches quite a bit as the very thing she was hoping to avoid seemed to be happening. Only for it to turn to horror as a move she happened to be rather fond of is unleashed upon her. She really hated being on the wrong end of it.
Fortunately the wind seemed to be on her side at the moment as her Caterpie wouldn't have had a chance get out of the way after going all out like that. Which elicits a sigh of relief, and determination to be able to regain a favored tactic. "That stuff is dangerous! Aim to keep moving and glance off when you hit it. Poison types tend to be able to shrug off a lot to focus more on not taking damage and remember, this is a team effort. You're not in this alone.
With the tactics of how to fight it taken care of and out of other options to begin with Caterpie proceeds to follow the commands. Falling low to the ground before launching his self toward Stunky. Bouncing off toward the side instead of back toward where he was originally. Keeping himself away from the toxic cloud and forcing Stunky to continue to turn while still the pile the threads.

The Stunky growled as he was hit hard by the Caterpie's tackle, then moving ahead and rushing forward, albeit slowly, and scratching at the Caterpie, his claws connecting and swiping across the body of the Bug-Type. A faint line across the body of the Caterpie was left, and the Poison-type snorted aggressively at the Bug.
The Caterpie was still okay, though. He was a resilient little bug, capable of taking lots of hits~
The Stunky flicked its dangerous tail lightly, wondering what it was going to do to the bug next.

Suzu and Caterpie don't have many options but to chip away at Stunky's stamina at this juncture. Oh what Suzu would give for Stun Spore or Thunder Wave at this moment. But this is the time for action, not second guessing her decision to travel Prydien while starting fresh! Though she is surprised Stunky didn't persist with the Poison Gas, enduring while it wears opponents down tends to be a strong point of poison types...
"It doesn't seem to be using the poison as much as I thought... Go for a direct hit to stay in front of it this time! We're at an advantage if we deny Stunky that strength."
Caterpie lungs with all the power his small body can muster. Going for a solid hit to bring this toward an end while things are in their favor!

The Caterpie's body slammed into the Dark-type Skunk Pokemon, hitting the Stunky in the stomach, causing it to lurch in pain as it looked up and growled at the little green Bug-type.
The Stunky hissed at the Caterpie, focusing and releasing another dark cloud of Poison Gas which hissed towards the Bug-Type Pokemon and its Trainer.
"Stunk! Stunky!" The Poison Type hissed out as it released the cloud of poisonous stink towards Suzu's Caterpie, the wind carrying it towards them.

Suzu is momentarily elated by the solid hit to the generally vulnerable belly of a quadruped. Only to mutter a curt "Fuck!" as she gets the hell out of the way of the Poison Gas as it stays on target this time. Engulfing Caterpie, leaving him not looking too hot once it passes.
"No point in holding back anymore! Hit it with everything you've got before you need to tagout!
Caterpie shudders for a few moments before lunging once more. Suzu wavering composure combined with the poison triggering a fight or flight response while her determination locks it into fight. Or maybe it's just because fighting gets him farther away from Suzu's feet. Hard to tell in the thick of things.
