As Wade continued to walk by, the sound of a very heavy beating of wings was heard a few meters above him... followed by the screech of a Bird Pokemon... This particular Flying-type must have been quite strong, as the tree's branches began to shake and shudder, causing a smaller Pokemon to fall out and land onto some soft moss at the base of the tree...

"Ruuff... Leeet" The little Pokemon cried lightly, looking a little dazed for a few seconds, and then quickly righting itself, the little fluffy Eaglet Pokemon looking around for what happened... Was he knocked out of the nest?

Finally, he saw a figure approaching... it was a human... and humans traveling down this path were mostly Trainers... which meant that he had Pokemon to battle!

"Rufflet! Ruff!" The little Pokemon chirped rather cutely at Wade as he approached, flapping his little wings and hovering for a few seconds before he landed. It might've seemed adorable, but this little Flying-type was issuing a pretty enthusiastic challenge to Wade.

Once again, Scuttlebutt understood it, though Wade was utterly dumbfounded by the lack of body language. The little bug Pokemon blinked, tilting it's head before moving it's balls like it was trying to punch at Wade, then pointing at the Rufflett with his horn. Immediately, Wade picked up a little on it and nodded, "Okay, you want to battle, Rufflet? We'll battle then! Scuttlebutt, you're up first!" he called out, grinning as he did.

Immediately Scuttlebutt jumped off of Wade's shoulder and grinned at the Rufflett, before narrowing his eyes and waiting up until the point that Wade called out "Hit him with a thunder punch!" before rolling in the grass to pick up static electricity, and then hurling itself forward at the flying type!

Scuttlebutt used Thunderpunch!

The Thunderpunch definitely caught the Rufflet off-guard. He'd never expected a puny little Bug-Pokemon to know a move like that, and especially not to hurt him so much.

"Rufflet! Flet!"The little Rufflet was not too pleased with being hit that hard by Scuttlebutt. So, it responded with its own attack... a nice big Peck on the Weedle's head. "Ruff! Ruff!"

When it pulled its beak away, Scuttlebutt was left with a huge welt where he was hit, and knocked to the ground... But it seemed the Bug-type still might have some fight left in him.

OOC

Roll a 1d4... the result x10 plus 15 is around how much health Scuttlebutt has left(Ex: a result of 1 gives Scuttlebutt 25% health, where a result of 4 gives him 55% health... Type-weakness and STAB hurts). Rufflet is currently at around 65% health.

Scuttlebutt rolled away from it, glaring at the flying type, bird pokemon even if it was feeling woosy, and stood it's ground for now. No matter how hurt it was- and no, Wade didn't have a chance to glance at it quite yet on the matter, it wasn't going to back down! Immediately, the bug type launched forward with another thunder punch. "Weeeeddddllle!"

The Rufflet flew back as it was hit with another Thunderpunch... that Weedle sure could dish out some damage... but the Rufflet was strong! He could take that little worm no problem!

The young Rufflet, fluffy mane of feathers looking adorable, charged up to Scuttlebutt, hitting him with another Peck! The Weedle was looking pretty beat up by the Pecking, but he was still standing to some degree... not looking too great, though.

The Rufflet looked a little bit roughed up as well... his feathers were scorched at the ends from the Electric attacks, looking another Thunderpunch away from passing out... Still, this little Eaglet was quite a tough little thing... probably due, in-part, to its force of will.

OOC

Rufflet's down to about 1/4 health... Scuttlebutt is in the red, but still standing.

This time thought, Wade could see the way his first Pokemon, Scuttlebutt- stagged, and immediately the boy reached for the hairy bug Pokemon's pokeball, recalling it. "That's enough Scuttlebutt, return!" he called out, immediately grabbing Fragarach's pokeball and throwing her out into the world once again.

The little blue 'big mouth'ed lizard pokemon rolled to a stop from where it had been thrown forward, looking back at Wade and then forward at the Rufflett, before squawking.

"Toto, tooootooodiiile!" the said, obviously taking an aggressive tone to things just from the sudden arrival of things and the fact that the bird type was singed and Scuttlebutt was no where to be seen. Wade meanwhile shook his head, pointing to the Rufflett and nodding- this pokemon had spirit, was a type he didn't have and well... it was one of the coolest Pokemon he had ever seen! So he definitely wanted to catch it, especially with how Scuttlebutt had hurt it and been hurt by it already!

"Fragarach, hit it with a Scratch!" he called out, and the blue pokemon nodded, bowing it's head to the little eaglelette and then charging forward, swinging it's hand and sending forth a blast of blue energy as the water type used Scratch!

The Rufflet was getting quite mad at being beat up by a Bug... so it was going in for another Peck, making a good running speed until... the Bug got called away... That wasn't fair! Rufflet wanted to beat the Bug on his own, and he was gonna do it too! The trainer wasn't being very fair...

"Ruff! Rufflet, ruff!" The little Eaglet Pokemon expressed his objection of the change of events... and he probably would have been heard too, if Wade hadn't have switched out for Totodile, and then give the little Flying-type a Scratch across the face. In response, the Rufflet gave it right back with a nice, strong Peck to Fragarach's torso, hitting her in the gut for an extra strong hit... This Rufflet was a fighter, sure enough.

OOC

If you want to catch it, roll a 1d6.
1-2: Failure to catch it.
3-6: Success!

Fragarach of course hadn't been expecting such a quick attack- and it grunted as it was sent stumbling back. Being punched or pecked in the stomach certainly wasn't the funnest experience in the world, and the little crocodilian glared at the eagle-like Pokemon, as if preparing to fight some more.

However, Wade stepped forward, shaking his head. "Fragarach, stop right there! He's had enough so far so let's try this!" Immediately the boy grabbed a pokeball from his pocket, rolling it from the tiny size they had when inert and making it expand to the proper size, before stepping back and throwing it at the flying type like a baseball player throwing a ball at someone trying to steal a base, the ball spinning as it flew towards the bird's head.

The Rufflet was absorbed by a red light when struck by the Pokeball, being quickly absorbed into the tiny capsule that would hold it... The ball shook and writhed, bouncing in resistance to being captured... but to no avail. The Rufflet finally submitted to his fate, and allowed himself to be captured by the Trainer, the Pokeball snapping its lock shut, and holding still.

Wade's catch was successful, giving him a fourth Pokemon, and his first Flying-type to add to his team. The Rufflet looked up at his new Trainer through the Pokeball, hoping that if the Trainer could train his Pokemon to be strong enough to beat him, that he could be trained to be strong too.

Wade looked down at the Rufflet through the top of the Pokeball, grinning at the normal/flying type and nodding, "We'll make a great team!" he called out, before reaching into the backpack pocket easiest to reach and digging for a second. It probably seemed a little awkward, one arm against his stomach and reaching behind him, but soon he had a potion out and dropped to his knee, spraying Fragarach with it a bit.

"Good job, 'Rach! Let's look for one more Pokemon and after that we'll call it a day, don't want to leave Luka waiting, right?" if it had been Scuttlebutt an enthusiastic 'yes' may have come forth, but from Fragarach? It was just a demure shrug, not like she wanted to meet the competition very much!

Soon there after, the boy withdrew Scuttlebutt to spray him with a potion as well, to heal him.

Even so, when he was done spraying, they began to look for another pokemon off the path.

The Mahogany clan boy continued along on his journey, two Pokemon under his belt within an hour. The boy must've been pretty proud of himself, and rightfully so.

Still, he wasn't done yet. More Pokemon were further down the path, just waiting to battle or be caught. As the sun started to move towards later afternoon, Wade was almost to Ashmere village, as far as he could tell. Pokemon around were mostly finishing their hunting for food, preparing to settle down for the night.

However, luckily for Wade, a few were still active and playful. In particular, a small, grey and black, doglike Pokemon came pouncing his way, barking at him and wagging its little tail.

"Pooch! Pooch! Poochyena!" The little canine Pokemon called, bouncing on its front legs, as if she expected Wade to play with her.

That caught Wade unawares, of course- the boy was fully expecting to not see such an immature, young and friendly pokemon out- especially not out att this time of night. While the boy hadn't really considered which of the many canid like pokemon that were out there he liked most- he did know he liked Poochyena, and the boy grinned at the sight of her, maybe if he was lucky he could make it three pokemon in under an hour, and get a cool dark type pokemon on his team in the process.

The boy grinned, reaching for a piece of beef jerky from his cargo short pocket's bag, attempting to well, bribe the little dark type into joining his team, but as Fragarach saw that she crossed her arms and huffed jealously, before shaking her head. Immediately, the little water type charged forward at the Poochyena and send a scratch at it. "Totototodiiile!" she growled, as if saying 'mine!' towards Wade.

"Fragarach, don't be a bully! We're going to make friends with her the right way!" and as much as it made the boy grimace, his pokemon was having nothing of it.

Fragarach the Totodile used scratch.

The little Poochyena sniffed at the jerky curiously... it smelled like food. She was about to take the offered snack, when she was so meanly Scratched by a little blue lizard of a bully. The Poochyena whimpered and whined as she was scratched, not sure how to react to someone who hit her right as she was trying to be friendly.

OOC

Roll a 1d12. On a result of:
1-2 - Poochyena runs away, meanies.
3-7 - Poochyena hides behind Wade, not wanting to be hit again.
8-12 - Poochyena returns the rough play, attacking with a Tackle.

Wade blinked, sure the Poochyena was going to run or be scared by it- but immediately surprised to see the little grey hound pup launch herself at Fragarach with a tackle. The little lizard glared at that, as if offended at being tackled when she attacked first, and immediately swiping once again with another scratch!

Fragarach the Totodile used scratch.
