Fragarach's defensive posture was assailed as the little water type juked and jived as she dodged the tail swipes by the Ponyta, the little lizard glaring up at it and shaking her head. Once again, while her instinct would have been to start slicing some more, but she deferred for a moment.

"You fight Fire with water- and if you had an offense lessening move Fragarach that's what we'd do- but as you don't hit 'em with a leer!"

Immediately, the little cerulean lizard glared, narrowing its eyes and focusing its energies, which soon manifested in a glow around it's eyes as it glared at the Ponyta, using Leer.

Fragarach used leer.

"Ponyta, use Growl, keep that little blue beast from getting an edge on you." Oliver countered Wade's Leer with his Ponyta's Growl, which was less like a growl, and more like a young horse trying to mimic a growl, which sounded like a sort of adorable bellowing... but the effect was achieved, keeping the Totodile's offensive power in check.

The little flaming colt seemed to be quite content, gladly battling for his Trainer, despite looking a tad young. It hatched perhaps a few months ago, and seemed quite attached to Oliver, as if he had raised it from an Egg and through birth and infancy.

That Wade had a truer counter to, and as the move made Fragarach roll her eyes (or try her best to) it still did it's affect, making her fighting stance go off a bit. Immediately Wade nodded, tilting his head to Fragarach and letting out a simple, firm command.

"Fragarach, use Dragon Dance again!" while it would not only raise Fragarach's attack power, it would also make the Totodile faster- negating some of the attack dampening from the Ponyta but also making the little lizard faster, giving her some of an edge.

And so Fragarach followed her trainer's orders, beginning a wild humorous dance that was serpentine and mimicked eating an imaginary sheep at some point, before the faint cerulean glow around the water type grew larger.

Fragarach used Dragon Dance!

"Go for another Double-Kick, before they get in another attack~" Oliver called to his Pokemon, the little Ponyta galloping back over the Totodile to do another strike... The flaming colt lifted his hind legs and kicked back... only to miss with the first leg, and hit nothing but air with the second. "Damn!"

Totodile's newly enhanced speed was making the little blue reptile harder to hit, and the Ponyta was ripe for a strike on his underbelly.

Wade didn't hesitate then, and Fragarach didn't have to wait for an order. Before the little water type could even fully realize it hadn't been hit, Wade called out a simple and firm "Now's the time! Fragarach, hit 'em with a scratch!" his words came quick, but as soon as they came the little lizard gave a half nod before swinging her claws back and sending a scratch forward at the Ponyta's underside.

"Those Double-kicks will hit you hard if we don't take it out as quick as we can, so don't let up!" Wade called out in addition, the little alligator like Pokemon giving a quick nod.

The Ponyta let out a whinny of pain as his belly was Scratched at, and being struck in such a vital area made the young Fire-type colt stagger for a bit. He righted himself, waiting on his Trainer to give him another command so he could finish the battle with this little blue beast.

"Tackle, and be careful Colt." The Intern said to his Pokemon, concerned for the Pokemon's ability to continue after such a hit. The Ponyta lifted his hooves high, charging towards the Totodile and clipping her arm, then galloping back around, an obviously pained motion in his gait.

Ponyta uses Tackle, Ponyta is badly hurt

The strike wasn't one that Totodile could easily or very properly dodge, given the fact that it wasn't as fast or on all fours like the Ponyta, and within seconds it was sent rolling back, the strike making it stagger as Fragarach shambled up to her feet.

Wade's nostrils flared, obviously a little angered at his Pokemon getting hurt like that, and nodded to Fragarach, pointing to the Ponyta. "We've got him on the ropes, use Scratch again!" and immediately the little feiry horse charged forward, swiping at the horse like Pokemon, despite her nicks, scratches, cuts, and bruises.

Fragarach used Scratch!.

With that final Scratch, the Ponyta wavered, heading back over to his Trainer, unable to continue the fight. It nuzzled against his arm, and he returned it with a gentle pet to its muzzle.

"You did very well, Colt. Come on back~" He said, calling back the young Ponyta and returning it to the Pokeball. He put the ball back on his belt and reached for another one, smiling gently and tossing it out."Alright, let's see how you can handle this little guy~"

He threw another Pokeball out onto the field, which opened and revealed a small, round Pokemon. A steel grey with green thorns coming out of it in certain spots, a pair of eyes looking at Wade gently.

"Ferro~" The Pokemon uttered lightly, extending its thorns and retracting them to roll around to move.

Oliver's Pokemon!

This was a Pokemon Wade had never seen before- perhaps because he hadn't memorized the nearly seven hundred Pokemon that existed, or perhaps because they were uncommon in Aballach. Either way, the young man shook his head, taking context clues into play. This Pokemon looked like a seed, maybe a metalic seed but a seed none the less- and he assumed then that it was a grass type, but given the words spoken, it's name- he assumed that it was a steel type.

Ferro was a word that meant Iron, after all the root of 'Ferrous', and as such the boy nodded. Maybe this Pokemon was the route of the word? Whatever the case, as Fragarach huffed, alternating her thoughts of fighting the Pokemon and leaning against Wade in her exhaustion, Wade shook his head, intervening. The boy grabbed her Pokeball from his belt and recalled her, "That's enough, 'Rach. You did a good job so far, girl!" and immediately after, he reached for a Pokemon he had recently got- one he had yet to even name yet! But the one Pokemon he was pretty sure might be able to hurt it.

Scuttlebutt was out of the question, given his bug type, and normal type moves might not hurt it. If it was pure steel type, at least Scuttlebutt's thunderpunch would come in to add to things, but if it wasn't pure steel type, then only one Pokemon would be the answer. The youth continued his glancing at the Pokemon, hesitating and surely making a message for that, before reaching for his newly captured Rufflett's Pokeball, throwing it skyward and grinning to the trainer.

"Feeling better, buddy? I'm Wade, and we haven't got to meet properly yet since your capture, but I know you're strong- so I need some of that strength." Wade encouraged as the Pokeball spat out his little flying and normal type Pokemon, which began to swoop through the air for a moment before perching on Wade's shoulder, giving a nod and hopping down.

"Ruuuufffleettt!" it challenged, as if saying 'Bring it on!' and without a drop of the dime Wade called out his first order to it, "Hit 'em with a Peck, Rufflet!" The eagleling squawked and charged forward, rearing it's headback and moving to land aforementioned peck.

Rufflet used Peck.

The Peck landed true, hitting the Thorn Seed Pokemon right in the center of the body... unfortunately, because of the Pokemon's thorny hide, a few of them scratched at the Rufflet, scraping on his beak lightly, not really doing much though.

"Ferroseed, use Harden! Break that bird's beak!" The trainer said, relying on his Pokemon's high defense and thorny coat to outlast the Rufflet.

"Ferro~" The Pokemon acknowledged his Trainer's command, and tightened its armor, hardening its body against attacks.

Ferroseed used Harden, Ferroseed is lightly scratched. Rufflet is lightly scratched

When Wade noticed the sudden scratches upon his Rufflet, he blinked- they hadn't been there before and obviously they had come from this Ferroseed. Immediately, the boy reached into his pockets and took a step back before giving the order, "Rufflet, get back here and use leer!"

The little eagle-ling frowned as best as it's beak could allow, looking at the ground but none the less nodding and following this order. Wade had trained his Pokemon stronger than the Rufflet, so obviously he could learn some things from him!

Five paces away, the little birdy spun around, narrowing its eyes and focusing its energies before preparing a leer!

Rufflet used Leer!

"Hmmph..." Oliver grumbled as Wade started countering the Harden with a well-timed Leer, the little puffy-headed Eaglet Pokemon staring down his Ferroseed, which relaxed and untensed its body... "Go in for a Tackle, Ferroseed."

The small, steel seed of a Pokemon bounced up, slowly hopping over to where the Eaglet Pokemon was, and rolling itself towards the Flying Pokemon, hoping to hit it instead of rolling in the wrong direction.

The eagle-lette fluttered it's wings and hop-skipped barely out of the way just in time to dodge the tackle, making Wade cheer, hopping up into the air with one arm raised. "All right, Rufflet! That's a good move, bud! Good job, and let's keep it up! Before it can get you again, hit 'em with another Leer! Let's weaken this steel of his!"

The little bird flapped it's wings, glaring at the seed with narrowed eyes, collecting it's determination and malice as it launched a glowing eyed leer at the steel and grass type.

And as it did, Wade gave a little psychological warfare of his own to Oliver, giving a wide, dimple twitching grin to the assistant of his grandfather.

"Ferroseed, keep trying to hit that little bird. Tackle, again." Oliver said to his Pokemon, hoping to have Ferroseed knock out the Flying-type before the opposite happened.

"Ferro~ Ferroseed! The Pokemon responded, once again rolling towards the Eaglet Pokemon, and then launching itself toward Wade's Rufflet in a Tackle, this one looking a little better aimed than the previous one.

"Ruuuuffffleeet!" the little eagle cried in pain as it was tackled, sent skidding backwards from the force of the blow and bleeding a tiny bit from the spikes upon the Ferroseed.

It glared, whimpering a bit but not backing down, and Wade himself grimaced at it. He felt kind of guilty throwing out this little guy without any warning, but he couldn't really allow himself to hesitate if they were to win, so he nodded to the Rufflet again.

"Use Peck this time, little guy! He wants to make it an offensive battle and we can't just hope that status moves will work, so let's go!"

The Rufflet nodded, spreading its legs slightly and then charging forward, rocketing it's beak at the seed and trying to dodge the spikes as it did.

Rufflet used peck.
