Making her way to Route 001 after exiting the pokemon center, Yasu left Nora out of her pokeball for the trip. It seemed to be a better idea, considering the pokemon was already attached to her at the hip. Even though she didn't look as excited as the pokemon did, Nora bounced around her like a child that just learned how to walk. It was a little unsettling, but at the same time it managed to cheer her up.

Route 001 was where things really started... she had the opportunity to catch more if she wanted to, which would help her even further on her goal. Then there were the possible trainers that would try to challenge her. That was how a trainer made money, and that was how she was going to support herself.

Yasu had managed to figure out more about what an Aron could do after looking it up in another trainer's poke-dex. It seemed to be a good defensive type, and had decent attacks at the same time. She'd apparently gotten lucky with the 'mix up' when she'd asked for a Bulbasaur to start off her journey. Nora seemed to be a lucky start to her journey, and the little pokemon seemed to radiate excitement, bouncing around in circles while Yasu walked. "Hey, save some of that energy for fighting, will you?" She sounded mostly serious, but at least smiled at Nora a little. The pokemon stopped for a second and looked worried, but the faint smile seemed to be enough to make it realize Yasu wasn't mad.

The breeze kicked up, and with it autumn leaves spiraled in a grandoise, poetic way on the path in front of Yasu and Nora. Probably wasted on the former, it was a none-the-less magnificent sight, and it meant something.

These were the steps into something different than childhood- by accepting Nora the Aron into her possession Yasu had taken responsibility for another living creature, and taken her fate in her hands. But what the now was- that depended on her own actions; she could hunt for Pokemon to add to her team, she could inadvertently run into other trainers- or something entirely different.

The only thing that it required were her to take her first steps.

[ooc; Random Roll, as is standard for beginning adventures.

Yasu shoved her hands into her pockets, wondering exactly how she was going to learn this without much help. Catching a pokemon was something that seemed like it'd be a little more complicated than one thought, and then there were the trainers that could challenge her. It'd obviously be annoying if she lost, and she wasn't particularly sure of what to do if she did. Head back to the pokemon center? That seemed to be a pain in the ass, but she had to think about Nora.

Nora, on the other hand, still bounded around her, not making any noise. It seemed to be pretty quiet, but it never really went more than three feet away from Yasu. It made Yasu think she needed to keep an eye on the creature, since it was so childish. It seemed like it'd be a pain, but that was what she'd chosen in life.

It felt pretty good to be out wandering like this instead of having to work constantly... the trainer had explained how much freedom one had as a trainer, and Yasu was now experiencing it first hand. She felt around in her backpack behind her for the supplies that she'd been given, just because she felt nervous about it. There were a lot of things to be worried about... she needed to have 'something' happen, just to break the ice.

???? Appears!

And indeed something did happen, the playful explorations of Nora soon knocked a slumbering Pokemon from it's rolled up sleep in the grass off the edge of the path. This Pokemon, which from looks of it could've been a bug type or a grass type or both- after all it looked like a bug wrapped in a leaf, blinked at the Aron and then nearly backflipped away, yelling out a frightened, " 'Waaaaaaddddllleeee!" and trying to turn tail and run. It certainly thought the other Pocket Monster was some kind of devouring beast sent to eat it- or so it seemed.

It didn't get past Yasu that if Nora hadn't been bouncing around in the grass that she wouldn't have woken up the slumbering pokemon. She wanted to catch it, whatever it was, she needed to start somewhere even if it looked weak. And was running away. That was going to make things difficult, even if she could catch up to it herself. Nora didn't seem like she was as fast as this other pokemon was, so she thought quickly. "Nora, quick, tackle that pokemon!"

It was as if Nora knew what she was going to say, fortunately. Yasu, thinking the worst, assumed Nora wasn't paying that much attention and was more playful than serious. When it came down to it, Nora followed her direction literally a second after she'd given it. The little Aron darted forward and leaped quickly towards the scurrying bug/plant, moving as quickly as it could. Yasu kept up a bit, staying back just in case this other pokemon wanted to retaliate. For the moment it looked like it was scared for its life, but Yasu had seen what'd happened. If something bumped into her while she was sleeping she'd probably freak out for the first few seconds too.

She was glad that when it mattered, her new pokemon would follow orders. It made sense since she seemed to be in love with Yasu, but Yasu was worried about it from the start. It seemed like she had a pretty good start as a trainer, and the fact that she'd already stumbled upon another pokemon just a few steps on the route helped that thought immensely. Now all she had to do was... fight it and catch it, hopefully.

Sewaddle!

The caterpillar like Pokemon continued it's frantic scurrying, and as it did it was barely faster than the iron armor Pokemon which chased it. Inevitably, the tackle hit, glancing the caterpillar's side but sending it rolling into the ground and stopping it's fleeing. Considering Aron a definite monster now, the Sewaddle glared and shouted out a challenge, " 'Waddle! Sewaddle 'waddle Waddle!" Something that Nora (and Yasu had she had more experience with Pokemon) would have understood as 'I'm not going to be defeated by you, monster!' and the Sewaddle immediately turned to face Aron and launch a tackle of it's own!

Yasu watched as Nora took the hit, wincing. It seemed like this other pokemon wasn't such a wimp after all. It made her feel slightly better, since now she wasn't ordering Nora to beat up on something that wasn't going to fight back.

If she remembered right, plant types were weak against rock type moves, but Nora didn't know any of those yet. She'd have to fix that at some point. Either way it also meant that Nora was likely not going to have to worry about taking too much damage here, but she wanted to make sure.

"Good job Nora, now use Harden, don't let it hit you like that again!" Nora didn't bother looking back at Yasu, and didn't respond. It didn't seem like a very vocal pokemon, but from the looks of things it did what it was supposed to do. It widened its stance and got ready for the next attack if it would come.

Nora stared down the Sewaddle, not flinching at all. For the size of it, it was fairly confident in itself and obviously wasn't going to back down. It made Yasu smile a bit again.

Yasu felt a bit strange, not being able to do anything but give orders. She supposed there would be more strategy down the line when she had more pokemon, but for the most part right now it seemed like Nora was leading the charge.

The bug-plant type Pokemon, a 'sewing pokemon' as it was called; certainly didn't like how little damage it did to the steel/rock type it was facing, but even so the Sewaddle stood it's ground, launching another tackle at the Aron in hopes of wearing it down, quite sure if it just started shooting string shots the steel type would just break free from it.

From the looks of things Yasu saw that Nora was a lot more prepared than she was before, for the attack that followed. It obviously still hurt, but it barely knocked her back and she was still standing strong, staring down her opponent. Nora could take a beating, that much was certain from what Yasu had seen so far. She didn't want to make the little Aron have to do it, but Nora seemed to enjoy it so far and it was what she signed on to do now that she was a trainer.

Yasu felt a twinge of excitement, her first battle was going well from the looks of things and Nora had a bit of an upper hand when it came to this fight. It looked like she was going to catch a pokemon finally after all, the bug/plant one in front of her wasn't going to run away it seemed.

She yelled out to Nora again, unable to contain her excitement. "Awesome, Nora, now tackle it again, don't let up!" Nora nodded slightly, once again making no noise in response. Before the sewaddle could back off from it's previous attack, Nora launched herself forward to counter.

The sewing caterpillar didn't have much (see, any) time to dodge the attack coming from Nora the Aron, immediately being tackled into and letting out a grunting, pained "Waaaaaaaddllllle!" as it rolled away. The strike had made it lose some of it's momentum, and it had a few little scratches. Without hesitation, it shot a spray of white, milky, and thick substance- a stringshot, which aimed at Nora's legs as it was, would likely slow her down some.

Nora didn't like being covered in string, obviously, and leapt backwards to try to shake it off. It was going to make things annoying, but Yasu had to try to keep Nora calm. "Don't let up, Nora. It's just a distraction. Calm down, keep going..." Nora looked back at Yasu for once and gave a slight nod, still not making any noise. The pokemon was reassured at least, even if they had quite a bit of silky string all over them.

"It can't last forever, Nora, tackle it again!" Nora bolted forward again, this time a bit slower given it was covered with silk, but didn't hesitate to attack the Sewaddle again. It was obviously a slower attack, but Nora wasn't going to let up just from a setback like that.

Yasu was a bit worried that it would set her back a lot if that pokemon used the same attack again... Nora was going to have to finish this quickly. It didn't look beat up enough to guarantee a catch if she threw a pokeball, and Yasu wasn't one to waste anything.

The little bug seemed content with its actions slowing and annoying the steel type, and this content attitude made it unwittingly the target of another tackle which it couldn't dodge fast enough. With a squeak and a grunt, the little bug was rolled towards the road again, barely dodge some jerk speeding down the path on their bicycle, before shouting defiantly, " 'Waddle, Waddle!" and firing another volley of stringshot at Yasu's Aron, Nora.

Nora was beginning to get completely covered with the silk, but it wasn't quite enough to hinder her movements that bad. She looked like she was getting a bit angry, but Yasu spoke up after she'd seen what the other pokemon did. Perhaps it was getting ready for a getaway, trying to slow down Nora enough for it to make an escape even if it wasn't ready to faint.

Yasu had to make a decision, either throw the pokeball now and possibly miss, or have Nora attack again and possibly get covered with more silk. Nora waitied patiently while she thought, but she needed to think quickly.

Attacking again seemed to be the smarter move, given the fact she didn't 'have' to catch the pokemon, and a weaker pokemon was slower and easier to catch. "Don't give up yet, Nora, tackle it again, we're almost there!"

Yasu was surprised at herself, she hadn't spoken this much for a long time, and she was having a good time with what she was doing. Training pokemon was definitely for her.

If the buggy had eyebrows it would've been tensing them at the fact this little steel monster wouldn't calm down, the bug once again being hit by the Aron and staggered by it. " 'Waddle Waddle Waddle!" it shouted, as if saying it wouldn't give up, and suddenly a pale green light surrounded it as 'Swarm' activated, the pokemon's ability making it get stronger as it shot another blast of string shot forward... at Yasu.

Nora looked at the silky string, assuming it was the intended target again. When it shot past her an onto her trainer, she looked somewhat confused, and then angry.

Yasu wasn't particularly happy about it either, but since she didn't have to focus on fighting the pokemon in front of her she brushed as much of it off of herself as she could, grabbing a pokeball. The monster was desperate enough to hit her, it likely couldn't take much more of the fight.

"Get ready, Nora, if this misses it's not over yet." Yasu threw her pokeball somewhat rapidly at the other pokemon in front of her, making sure not to miss completely.

Nora watched intently, obviously understanding what exactly was going on. She got ready to attack again if she had to, spending the free time trying to get out of the string that it was still covered with.
