Sewaddle!

As the Pokeball sailed through the air, the little sewing Pokemon blinked just in time to be hit in the head by the metal device, the button being pressed as it smacked into the bug/grass type, and swallowing it up into the device.

The ball spun up into the air, then hit the ground and began to wobble violently. Would it be caught? Who was to know!

Yasu let out a sigh, there was nothing to do other than wait and watch to see if she'd actually catch the little bugger that had just sprayed silk all over her and Nora. Nora watched intently as well, managing to scrape off the rest of the string shot that was still on her. Yasu didn't bother yet, she didn't like losing and until the pokeball stopped shaking she wasn't going to relax. "Stay ready, Nora, it might not be over."

Nora shot back up in attention, snapping her head to look at the wriggling pokeball. Nora seemed like she was in fairly good shape considering she'd just been in a fight, it was good to see she had a pokemon that could hang with fighting for a while.

The pokeball halted it's shifting, twitched a few times and then came to a halt some feet away from the lass from Aballach. With the distinctive 'ding ding DING, CLICK' that she would learn to know in her adventures, Yasu had caught her first Pokemon.

Sewaddle was captured!

Yasu and Nora both held their breath while the pokeball finally decided it was 'done', and Yasu had herself a new pokemon. Nora got to it first, just staring down at it like she'd just played fetch and was bringing it to Yasu, but Yasu was close enough to pick it up herself. She needed to decide on a name for this one as well. She'd do that later, when she could think of a better name. She put the pokeball on her belt, keeping Nora out of hers for the time being. Yasu now had two pokemon, one of which was fairly injured. She was tempted to heal it with a potion, but for the moment she would continue on the path.

But not before putting her hand on Nora's head, offering the pokemon a smile. "You did great. I'm lucky to have you, Nora. Let's get going, no time to waste." Nora seemed to beam at that, but still didn't make a peep.

Yasu got up and started walking again, absently handling the pokeball that her new pokemon was in. It was eating at her that it was hurt, so she let it out of the pokeball, stopping. The Sewaddle looked like it was in bad shape, but didn't do much of anything until Yasu took the potion from her backpack and sprayed it on the creature. Nora looked on, somewhat jealous, but didn't do anything other than watch. "Well now, you're better... and you're on my team now, so no more running away." The Sewaddle seemed pleased that it was healed up, and that was enough for it's allegiance. "Waddle, waddle." Yasu could only imagine what that meant, and put the pokemon back in its pokeball, feeling a bit better as she walked. Nora walked in front of her again, sniffing around the grass like it was trying to find another monster to fight.

Apparently that momentary glimmer of Sewaddle was enough to get a squawking response, and suddenly above Yasu was- a flock of Spearow. The common, almost archetypical bird pokemon (by Prydein standards) were above her in drove's, and squawking, " 'Row! Rowrowrow!" angrily at her, as if threatening her and Nora.

Yasu looked up after putting away her new Sewaddle, putting a hand to her forehead. They were a bunch of fairly large sized birds, otherwise she wouldn't have cared. They probably wanted the bug|grass type pokemon she just caught for lunch, but since she put it away it was safe. They weren't attacking her or Nora quite yet, so she had time to think about what she wanted to do. Nora looked up at them curiously, obviously not too worried, and then looked to Yasu as if they were already fighting... fifteen spearows at once.

It made her sort of angry that they were after 'her' pokemon now, but bringing sewaddle out seemed to be a bad move. It would just be her and Nora against a pretty decent sized flock of pokemon, and she didn't want Nora to get hurt. It'd probably hurt to get pecked at by them as well, but it seemed like it'd be pretty easy to whack them away herself.

Then again, there was compromising... Pokemon understood each other, and Nora obviously understood Yasu. "Nora, tell them we'll make a deal... We can either make the fight fair, two versus two, or we can do this the hard way, probably getting all of us hurt. Winner gets what they want." Nora looked a bit surprised, but relayed the message to the flock, finally making the first noises Yasu had heard from the creature. "Aaaaron, ron, aron!" She was rather loud, and repeated what seemed to be the same saying over and over until she was done.

Reasoning with wild pokemon wasn't something she'd considered to start, but it was better than blindly rushing in with a stick and hoping she wasn't pecked to oblivion. She had Nora to think about as well.

The Spearow seemed to be very very displeased with her putting up her Sewaddle, and a few even swooped down and squawked loudly near her face, but then they fluttered skywards and off somewhere else, at least -for now-.

As they did, another pokemon seemed to stumble onto the scene, apparently only spared from attack by the Spearow above thinking it was some of their eggs. Indeed, it bumbled towards the path where -another- bike rider sped down it without concern over who or what was in their way.

She was glad to be rid of the spearow that were flying around, she wasn't about to bring her new bug|plant type out to fight them unless she had to. Nora could have probably taken two of them herself, which the spearow probably knew. Either way she was going to have to keep an eye out for that flock again, they seemed to want to cause trouble and she wasn't even close to getting to the next town yet. At least she had a few potions to tide her over, and if she had to, she could turn around to get her pokemon healed without running into 'too' many mishaps. If she could have knocked on wood, she would have.

She saw another biker coming towards her, and another pokemon bumbling towards the path. It looked like a bunch of eggs, but it was definitely moving. From the looks of things it was going to get run over, which was something that she didn't want to see. It'd probably hurt the biker as well as the pokemon, so she decided to try to stop it from happening altogether. "Nora, stop that pokemon over there, will you?"

It looked like there would be enough time for Nora to get over there, but it was hard to tell.

Exeggcute bumbles along!

The group of eggs that were infact a Pokemon continued their hopping onwards in their imitation of walking, stopping only at Nora's sudden appearance, and looking to 'each other' then to it. "Eeexeeegggcuuute?" they questioned, having never seen a Pokemon like that before, they were confused- but it was enough to keep them off the path and stop them from getting run over.

Yasu followed the slower Nora at a slower pace than she normally could have. In retrospect it was a bit dumb, since Yasu herself probably could have reached the pokemon before it got to the road herself. Nora was already darting towards it to 'save the day', even if it seemed to want to get run over, blissfully ignoring the oncoming pain on two wheels.

Nora wasn't going to make it in time unless she knocked the pokemon out of the way, that much was obvious. So, moving her little legs as fast as she possibly could, she eventually ended with a quick leap forward and launched herself in front of where the other pokemon would eventually get to the bike path.

Yasu did her part, waving at the biker to swerve out of the way or at least slow down, because she knew it'd probably be a waste of time to yell.

Nora rolled over a few times and sailed past the exeggcute, just barely brushing against one of the eggs before skidding to a halt a good ways past the pokemon. Yasu, determined to see things through, started running faster and dove forward as well, ignoring the scratching of the ground below in a nose dive attempt to block off the pokemon's path.

She managed to do so, ending up in front of the exeggcute.

Exeggcute stops! It wants to battle!

Well, the grass-psychic type seemed to be bumbling along, but its plan had been ruined! By being run over by the bicycle, its owner would have had to capture it if for no reason other than to take it to the Pokemon Center, and it would've gotten to ride on the bicycle, the cool cool bicyckle!

"Eeeexeeeecuuuuuuuuute." it murmured, the words clear to Aron as 'Whhhy'd you do that?' and clear enough from the weak psychic abilities and repeated murmuring of the grass-psycic Egg Pokemon to make Yasu understand the 'Why...?' in the phrase.

Infact, it looked pretty angry as it bobbled back and forth!

Yasu got up and wiped herself off, fortunately the grass had kept her from getting that scraped up or dirty. Nora bounced over in front of her like the Exeggcute was going to attack Yasu. It was interesting to be able to hear the pokemon say 'something' that she could understand, but it was a bit unsettling. It didn't make much sense for it to want to get run over by the bicycle, but then again, who knew how pokemon thought other than other pokemon.

From the looks of it the creature wanted to fight because of it, and Nora looked up at Yasu to figure out what she wanted to do. It wasn't going to hurt to give it a battle, she might get another pokemon to add to her team and it seemed to be inevitable anyways. Yasu and Nora had apparently ruined its plans, so they were going to have to duke it out.

"Fine then, weirdo, we'll give you a battle." Yasu was obviously annoyed at the creature, she had its health in mind, but the creature didn't seem to care. "You want to get beat up, we'll get you beat up." Nora understood what that meant without having to tell her what move to use... The Aron bolted forward without hesitation, aiming for center of the bouncing eggs.

The eggs were sent sprawling, rolling, the big one hit but the others rolling with it, and soon they were glaring, their eyes glowing a light purple as they activated their psychic link, sending Hypnosis Nora's way. They looked smug while doing it, too.

Nora stood and watched the Exeggcute carefully. Yasu was curious about what was going on, but managed to figure things out through what had happened so far. She'd heard it 'speak', it must have been a psychic type, something that Nora probably wouldn't do that well against. It was weird to see so many of them altogether... but she'd heard of this one at least, and knew that it was considered to be one pokemon. It was trying to do something to Nora without actually attacking, which meant she needed to get this over with quickly before it worked.

Whatever it was, Nora shook it off, actually shaking her head a bit. It seemed to have an effect, somewhat, but it lasted for a few seconds. "Hit it again, Nora, don't let it get to you, tackle it!" If it was trying to put her pokemon to sleep it'd get a few good attacks in before Nora actually woke up, which Yasu didn't want to happen. She had that Sewaddle as well, which would make this a bit easier.

Having a pokemon that could do that to other ones seemed like a good addition to her team, even if this one had wanted to jump in front of a moving bike. As long as she treated it right, it wouldn't likely want to do the same thing again, would it?

Either way, Nora bolted at the group of egg-like monsters again, once again attacking with a tackle.
