TURKISH-UKRAINIAN TRADE, ECONOMIC STIMULUS & FINANCING AGREEMENT![]() ![]() Preamble Ukraine and Turkey affirm their desire to expand trade in products and services and to promote an attractive investment climate consistent with the terms of this Agreement within their borders. The government of both countries recognise that financing is an essential part of economic growth and investment, and that its absence would consequently pose a serious threat to economic development. Article I: Loan 1. ) The Turkish Republic agrees to grant Ukraine a loan of 10,000,000,000 US$ (10 billion dollars), at a yearly interest rate of 6 (six) percent. 2. ) Ukraine compromises to repay this debt to Turkey, respecting the debts due yearly interests, over a 20 year period. 3. ) Ukraine compromises to use the loan mentioned in Article II Section I with the sole purpose of the creation of a Ukrainian Investment Office, which shall provide finance for assisting civilian business projects. Any other use will have to be accorded by the two parties with four months in advance. Article II: Trade & Investment 1. ) Both governments commit to provide more incentives to encourage investment between the two nations. These may include appropriate reductions in taxation and a gradual and controlled and mutually accorded reduction in tariffs and other restrictions on trade between parties. 2. ) Ukraine will decrease their tariffs by 50% on Turkish goods. Turkey will decrease their tariffs by 50% on Ukrainian goods. 3. ) Ukraine agrees to treat Turkey companies equally with Ukrainian companies. Turkey agrees to treat Ukrainian companies equally with Turkey companies. Article III: Business 1. ) Ukrainian companies agree to abide by all Turkish laws regarding businesses when conducting business in Turkey. 2. ) Turkish companies agree to abide by all Ukrainian laws regarding businesses when conducting business in Ukraine. 3. ) The two nations agree to establish incentives to enhance the ability of further investment between the two nations. Article IV: Agreement Terms 1. ) This treaty will officially be enacted upon ratification. 2. ) Any violation of this agreement by either Ukraine or the Turkish Republic will be severely condemned, and immediately proposed to the International Court of Justice for mediation. |
