Boner Survey #2 (I DIDNT MAKE A SINGLE ONE OF THESE QUESTIONS); pick & choose! a lot of these are redundant because someone else made it, and some are also quite evocative but do your best

How often do they get sick? What kinds of illnesses do they tend to get most often? Colds, flu, sinus infections, stomach viruses?

Do they tend to run hot or cold? When they have a fever, is it barely noticeable, or does their temperature skyrocket?

When they’re sick, do they stay home or go to work/school? If they don’t go to work or school, do they try to rest, or do they just go on with their day like normal? Do they try to avoid getting others sick by taking precautions like a mask or staying away from others in general?

Do they tend to sneeze just once or twice, or multiple times? Do they have fits frequently or rarely? Does how many times they sneeze depend on the cause?

Are they allergic to any kind of plants? Flowers, weeds, trees? If yes, how bad are their allergies to those plants?

Are they allergic to other things? Dust, animals, perfumes, certain fragrances? Anything that might be considered “out of the ordinary” to be allergic to? How bad are those allergies?

In general, how sensitive is their nose? Can something like a certain flower or smell make them sneeze even if they’re not allergic to it? Do they sneeze a lot on average, or not very much? Does their nose twitch a lot, or barely ever at all?

When they’re sick, do they try to downplay their symptoms, or do they treat every little cold like the plague? Do they whine a lot, or do they complain quietly or even just in their head?

What would be the best way for someone to induce them? Feathers, rolled-up tissue, or something else? How much stimulation would it take for them to start sneezing? Would inducing produce just one or two sneezes from them, or multiples?

How wet are their sneezes? Do they spray barely at all, or are you gonna need an umbrella? Do they try to cover at all, or just let it go? Do they sniffle a lot when they’re sick or allergies are bugging them?

Do they like to be taken care of when they’re not feeling well? Or do they hate it when people fuss over them? If they do, what’s their favorite thing about being taken care of? If not, why don’t they like being taken care of? How bad would they have to be before they’d let anyone take care of them in any capacity?

Do they take their medicine like a grown-up, or do they try to fight it? Do they prefer pills or liquid medicine? Can they be “tricked” by having the medicine mixed with applesauce or with a drink, or would they still not take it even then?

What do they like to eat while they’re sick? Do they like soup, or would they prefer something that isn’t “sick person food”? Do they lose their appetite when they’re sick, or are they hungrier than usual?

Do they like tea when they’re not feeling well? If so, do they like it with honey, lemon, both, with something else, or just plain? Would they accept something else if they couldn’t have tea? If they don’t like tea, is there something they’d rather drink instead? Would they drink tea if their preferred drink wasn’t available?

What are their “tells” when they’re not feeling their best? Do they sleep more or less? Do they become easily irritated, aggressive, snap at little things? Or do they withdraw and become quieter, cry at the drop of a hat, stay in the background? What’s the one surefire way that one of their loved ones would be able to tell that they’re sick?

Would it be more unusual to see this character sick during the winter or during the summer? Do they typically go down during cold and flu season, or do they usually get summer colds?

How does their voice change when they’re sick or allergies are bugging them? Does their voice get lower? Scratchy? Raspy? Can you hear any congestion in their voice or do they hide it well? Do they avoid speaking too much because of a sore throat and coughing, or do they try to talk through those things?

Do they have some kind of ritual that they do when they’re not feeling great that helps? Does it help physically, or does it just make them feel better emotionally?

Are they embarrassed by their sneezes, or do they just not really care? Do they apologize after sneezing? Do they say “sorry!” or “excuse me!” or anything like that? If they’re embarrassed about it, why?

How would they react to being sick for their favorite holiday or their birthday? Would they be really upset, or not get too bent out of shape? What would they do if somebody gave them a gift that they’re allergic to? Would they say they’re allergic to it or not? Try to give it back, keep it, or get rid of it later?

What are their buildups like? Breathy, hitchy, tickly? Do they go on for a while or is there almost no warning before they sneeze? Would they intentionally draw out their buildups to tease an S/O who had the fetish?

Do they ever try to stifle their sneezes? Can they do it almost silently, sort of well, or are they just one of those people that can’t stifle at all? If they don’t stifle normally, is there any situation where they would at least try?

Are they good at holding back their sneezes? Can they completely hold back and avoid sneezing at all, or can they only hold back for so long?

If the setting is modern (or in a modern AU), do they opt in or out of the flu shot? If so, do they do it every year, or just once in a while/when they have the time? If not, why don’t they get it? Whichever the answer is, do they end up getting the flu regardless, or do they usually manage to dodge it? Are there any vaccines they aren’t up-to-date on?

Is there anything they really love despite (or in spite of) being allergic to it? Is there a reason they like that thing so much, or just that they like it? Do they still love it even when they’re a stuffy, drippy, sneezy mess because of it, or do they have kind of a love-hate relationship with it?

Does their accent (or lack thereof) affect the sound of their sneeze? If yes, in what kind of way?

For characters who wear glasses! (Whether it’s all the time or just for certain activities.) Have they ever managed to sneeze their glasses askew? Or sneeze them completely off their face? Alternatively: if the character doesn’t wear glasses! If they were to wear glasses, would their sneezes be strong enough to knock them off their face?

Are their sneezes typically loud or quiet? Forceful or soft? On a scale of 1-10, are they a tiny whisper or an atomic bomb? Does the cause change the way their sneezes sound? For example, if their sneezes are usually quiet but allergies can make their sneezes sound louder?

How sensitive are they to spices? Would a lot of pepper or other spice in a dish make them sneeze?

Do bright lights make them sneeze? Does it matter if it’s the sun or just any bright light? Does it make them sneeze just once, or multiple times?

What kind of symptoms do they really not like? Whether it’s illness or allergies, what symptoms just bother them more than anything else? Is there anything they can do to alleviate those symptoms, or does nothing work?

If they muffled their cough or sneeze against somebody’s shoulder/arm/chest/legs/ETC., would they not really care, or would they be really embarrassed about that? If their S/O wanted to be sneezed on, would they be okay with indulging that, or would they just be too flustered to even entertain the idea?

Do they prefer tissues or handkerchiefs? Any particular reason why? Do they always have some on hand, or do they not carry them around?

Are there any natural remedies they utilize, whether it’s for sickness or allergies? Or do they usually use over-the-counter drugs? Or do they forego anything altogether and try to tough it out?

What would make their caregiver (or friends, family, S/O, etc.) say, “If you can still do that, obviously you’re not that sick”?

What does their nose look like? Long? Short? Button-y? Hooked? Thin? Pudgy? Squishy? Be as descriptive as you’d like!

If you were to rate them on a scale of sneeziness, from 1 to 100 based on how many times they sneeze on any given day, about where would they land? (Could be one number, or could be, say, “between 5-10″!)

uhhh ths is a lot of questions huh i uhhhhhhhh hm regret pasting them in here like ive done. oh well people its too late to turn back now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How often do they get sick? What kinds of illnesses do they tend to get most often? Colds, flu, sinus infections, stomach viruses?
UM WHATEVER IS ANYBODY GONNA NOT SAY "COLDS" LOL. like seriously. already this survey is off to a start. hmmmmmm.
well anyway the answer is roughly 2-3 colds in a year because i think that's average for a healthy adult and like that's fine

Do they tend to run hot or cold? When they have a fever, is it barely noticeable, or does their temperature skyrocket?
His natural body temperature isn't particularly hot or cold, but as soon as he starts running a fever you can really see it on his cheeks and around his eyes. It rarely gets high or dangerous, but it's very visible!

When they’re sick, do they stay home or go to work/school? If they don’t go to work or school, do they try to rest, or do they just go on with their day like normal? Do they try to avoid getting others sick by taking precautions like a mask or staying away from others in general?
oh god i forgot i already asked/answered this question in the FIRST survey!! my B, guys!!
Anyway he stays back if he can get away with it, due to that neurotic self-consciousness that comes with being sick and a general tendency to retreat/quarantine himself for anything all the time (backstory reasons etc etc).
In the past, his friends/coworkers have managed to get him to come out anyway, unless he was actually too ill to function properly.

Do they tend to sneeze just once or twice, or multiple times? Do they have fits frequently or rarely? Does how many times they sneeze depend on the cause?
Usually two in a row close together, but once in a while there's a third a couple seconds later. Sometimes if he's sick there's just one at a time.

Are they allergic to any kind of plants? Flowers, weeds, trees? If yes, how bad are their allergies to those plants?
Some ambiguous weeds/trees in the fall and spring, but it's very brief and mild every time. For the rest of the year he forgets he has allergies at all.

Are they allergic to other things? Dust, animals, perfumes, certain fragrances? Anything that might be considered “out of the ordinary” to be allergic to? How bad are those allergies?
Occasionally, the stray weeds/weed dust/mold in a bale or pile of hay will set something off, but it's usually just moderate face/skin itchiness that he assumes is a normal reaction instead of an allergic one.

In general, how sensitive is their nose? Can something like a certain flower or smell make them sneeze even if they’re not allergic to it? Do they sneeze a lot on average, or not very much? Does their nose twitch a lot, or barely ever at all?
nah not too much!!

When they’re sick, do they try to downplay their symptoms, or do they treat every little cold like the plague? Do they whine a lot, or do they complain quietly or even just in their head?
He'll remark on being sick over text in a way that's really dramatic but also very vague, but in person he tries to be more discreet and not mention anything unless the symptoms are particularly obtrusive or someone else brings it up first.

What would be the best way for someone to induce them? Feathers, rolled-up tissue, or something else? How much stimulation would it take for them to start sneezing? Would inducing produce just one or two sneezes from them, or multiples?
literally what is up with this question i dont even know if i am gonna answer it i guess we'll see as i continue typing my reaction to it but anyway GOD LMAO like how many people are gonna have an answer for this like anyone who answers this is gonna have to think of some kind of context for this to even apply and i dont know if i can do that
i dont know. i dont know. i. ah. i. hm. i feel like i have an answer but im not answering this. i guess chhinkni would probably do it!

How wet are their sneezes? Do they spray barely at all, or are you gonna need an umbrella? Do they try to cover at all, or just let it go? Do they sniffle a lot when they’re sick or allergies are bugging them?
oh heres the umbrella question
I DONT KNOW DUDE I DONT THINK ABOUT THIS. uhhhh like whats an average amount?????? that

Do they like to be taken care of when they’re not feeling well? Or do they hate it when people fuss over them? If they do, what’s their favorite thing about being taken care of? If not, why don’t they like being taken care of? How bad would they have to be before they’d let anyone take care of them in any capacity?
finally a normal ass question
He likes it! Not just for the physical comfort aspect that comes with having someone help you with those symptoms, but also because it helps him relax a little, kind of like a validation that it's not a big deal that he's sick and the world's still turning and everything's fine.

Do they take their medicine like a grown-up, or do they try to fight it? Do they prefer pills or liquid medicine? Can they be “tricked” by having the medicine mixed with applesauce or with a drink, or would they still not take it even then?
um i literally hate the way this person phrased this question but whatever i guess no one is reading this for my shitty commentary………..
He prefers the syrups but doesn't mind swallowing pills. He doesn't usually think to take anything unless he really needs to manage the symptoms or someone reminds him.

What do they like to eat while they’re sick? Do they like soup, or would they prefer something that isn’t “sick person food”? Do they lose their appetite when they’re sick, or are they hungrier than usual?
He tries to eat things with really strong flavors because of the dulled senses. Seeks out hot, soft foods because they're easier to swallow with a sore throat, but even then his appetite gets diminished because it'll still hurt a little no matter what he does.

Plain herbal tea is a go-to, but he'll appreciate anything warm. A latte with chocolate and cayenne is a second favorite when he can find someone to make it.
He also tends to drink a lot of black coffee when sick because fighting a cold makes him drowsy during the day.

Falls asleep constantly due to the symptoms making it harder to intentionally sleep at night while lying down, combined with the general malaise that comes with being sick.
Sometimes he gets jittery or his hands shake from all the coffee.

Would it be more unusual to see this character sick during the winter or during the summer? Do they typically go down during cold and flu season, or do they usually get summer colds?
In the summer!! He usually gets sick around the times when the temperature is shifting colder (start of autumn and dead of winter), when illnesses are getting passed around.

How does their voice change when they’re sick or allergies are bugging them? Does their voice get lower? Scratchy? Raspy? Can you hear any congestion in their voice or do they hide it well? Do they avoid speaking too much because of a sore throat and coughing, or do they try to talk through those things?
He talks the same amount anyway because he (in general) forgets to be mindful enough to hide anything. Usually there's some hoarseness in the beginning and congestion for the remainder of the illness. If he's been really sick then his voice will get raspy at the end of a cold from coughing and he needs to clear his throat a lot.

Do they have some kind of ritual that they do when they’re not feeling great that helps? Does it help physically, or does it just make them feel better emotionally?
Lots of fruit and vitamins. He thinks it helps, but if he's already getting sick then it's too late for them to do the job he wants them to do because he doesn't take them regularly otherwise.

Are they embarrassed by their sneezes, or do they just not really care? Do they apologize after sneezing? Do they say “sorry!” or “excuse me!” or anything like that? If they’re embarrassed about it, why?
Regular: sorry excuse me
Frustrated/surprised: jesus sorry
He doesn't get particularly embarrassed unless it was disruptive in some way. He does get kind of nervous and assess everything afterward in case he accidentally hypnotized someone.

How would they react to being sick for their favorite holiday or their birthday? Would they be really upset, or not get too bent out of shape? What would they do if somebody gave them a gift that they’re allergic to? Would they say they’re allergic to it or not? Try to give it back, keep it, or get rid of it later?
If he had plans with anybody, he would text them "aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" a bunch of times before telling them he was sick and then trying to cancel. Most people who know what he's like would find out how sick he actually was and then convince him to celebrate anyway.
He wouldn't say anything about an allergy gift and probably just get rid of it later. Fake!

What are their buildups like? Breathy, hitchy, tickly? Do they go on for a while or is there almost no warning before they sneeze? Would they intentionally draw out their buildups to tease an S/O who had the fetish?
um the last part of that question hm. why is this survey like that
The build-up is usually pretty short, a couple seconds maybe, with enough warning for him to cover his face with his hand. Chest stutters a few times.

Do they ever try to stifle their sneezes? Can they do it almost silently, sort of well, or are they just one of those people that can’t stifle at all? If they don’t stifle normally, is there any situation where they would at least try?
omg every time. but he's hopeless at it!!!! Sometimes he's good at getting it to be really quiet but then his whole body jerks forward a lot and there's a much louder one immediately following so why bother!!!!! It,s not gonna be different this time man!!

Are they good at holding back their sneezes? Can they completely hold back and avoid sneezing at all, or can they only hold back for so long?
no. hopeless

If he gets a physical that year and they offer the flu vaccine, he'll take it, but otherwise doesn't think about it. He probably needs another tetanus shot but so does everyone I think.

Is there anything they really love despite (or in spite of) being allergic to it? Is there a reason they like that thing so much, or just that they like it? Do they still love it even when they’re a stuffy, drippy, sneezy mess because of it, or do they have kind of a love-hate relationship with it?
He likes picking apples at the orchard even though you sometimes have to ride on one of those haystack trucks to get to the section with the trees. It's a gamble on whether or not it'll affect him but he doesn't take it into consideration regardless.

For characters who wear glasses! (Whether it’s all the time or just for certain activities.) Have they ever managed to sneeze their glasses askew? Or sneeze them completely off their face? Alternatively: if the character doesn’t wear glasses! If they were to wear glasses, would their sneezes be strong enough to knock them off their face?
this glasses question is giving me jilly memories

Are their sneezes typically loud or quiet? Forceful or soft? On a scale of 1-10, are they a tiny whisper or an atomic bomb? Does the cause change the way their sneezes sound? For example, if their sneezes are usually quiet but allergies can make their sneezes sound louder?
Usually 4 followed by 7, or 4-6-8 if there are three. Give or take a couple notches. It varies.

How sensitive are they to spices? Would a lot of pepper or other spice in a dish make them sneeze?
Probably not! He does get the watery eyes sometimes.

Do bright lights make them sneeze? Does it matter if it’s the sun or just any bright light? Does it make them sneeze just once, or multiple times?
Abruptly going from a dark environment to a bright one can trigger the feeling sometimes, but it's not strong enough for an actual sneeze unless he's already bothered by something else.

What kind of symptoms do they really not like? Whether it’s illness or allergies, what symptoms just bother them more than anything else? Is there anything they can do to alleviate those symptoms, or does nothing work?
He hates how difficult it is to breathe because it's such a small part of the body but it just messes with everything. Eating, sleeping, speaking, kissing!! Headaches!! Vertigo!!
Decongestants don't do much but steam helps a lot.

If they muffled their cough or sneeze against somebody’s shoulder/arm/chest/legs/ETC., would they not really care, or would they be really embarrassed about that? If their S/O wanted to be sneezed on, would they be okay with indulging that, or would they just be too flustered to even entertain the idea?
omg this question

Do they prefer tissues or handkerchiefs? Any particular reason why? Do they always have some on hand, or do they not carry them around?
omfg he's not thoughtful enough to own any handkerchiefs
Tissues are fine if he can remember them, but usually he doesn't. If he's hanging out in an area that has a tissue box and he knows he'll need it, he'll move it so it's closer to him.

Are there any natural remedies they utilize, whether it’s for sickness or allergies? Or do they usually use over-the-counter drugs? Or do they forego anything altogether and try to tough it out?
He gets exasperated enough by physical discomfort to try anything, and researches online and crowdsources from friends for new things to try. Lots of herbal concoctions, poultices, drinks -- the kind of remedies that only offer temporary relief. Usually it just reminds him that there's no magic cure for stuff like this and he just has to deal with it.

What would make their caregiver (or friends, family, S/O, etc.) say, “If you can still do that, obviously you’re not that sick”?
As long as he's still able to get out of bed, he's probably fine. More serious stuff like the flu hits him harder with fatigue, and he feels too exhausted to move around much at all.

What does their nose look like? Long? Short? Button-y? Hooked? Thin? Pudgy? Squishy? Be as descriptive as you’d like!
Sloped with the bridge curving slightly inward. The kind that looks wider from the front than the side.

If you were to rate them on a scale of sneeziness, from 1 to 100 based on how many times they sneeze on any given day, about where would they land? (Could be one number, or could be, say, “between 5-10″!)
THIS QUESTION IS SO FUCKING FUNNY AHH I REMEMBER CRACKING UP OVER IT IN THE HOTEL ROOM. OH GOD. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN YOU YAMITERASU ASS MF. ONE TO ONE HUNDRED. HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY QUANTIFY SOMETHING LIKE THIS?
like would a 1 out of 100 be, like, sneezing 1% of the time they're awake on a given day??? thats still so much sneezing. like what the fuck is 100? just constant never ending sneezing?? what????? what the fuck?? what the hell is going on in this question?????? oh fuck this is so funny. it's like almost 5am right now and im on the couch laughing about this what the hell is going on. i have no idea what to say to this
