December 28, "Changes": Within the next couple of days, RD won't be the same as you remember it. In fact, the site will experience several hours of downtime, and will receive a small URL change, as well. The URL will be sent out to everyone via-mass eMail, and hopefully everyone remembers the eMail you signed up with! If not, word of mouth will be used to contact last minute stragglers.

I don't want to go into massive detail regarding the changes, so just think Big. ^_^

Discuss.

December 27, "Major Changes": The single most Major change to hit RD may be on the horizon. A staff meeting will be called, and some decisions will be made regarding the tentative alterations.

December 14, "Date Formatting": Today I did some shopping at the Help Forum, and got us a cool, new format for the main page of the forums. Now, instead of listing the date the most recent post was made, it will now read, "Today" or "Yesterday". It's a subtle change, but it's very welcome from my point of view. I got tired of trying to remember the date every time someone posted on RD. :P

I'll probably do a little more shopping on the Help Boards, so keep an eye out! I'll make sure I don't get too crazy. ;)

Enjoy! :balloons:

December 13, "Moderators": With the return of Platinum Jinjo, we now have 3 Moderators and 2 Administrators. The question about Platinum's return to his position came up, and the problem was solved by giving the Moderating Team specific domains to call their own. The "Forum Led By" section has been added to the forum descriptions, and you can see which Moderator leads which forum.

All three moderators have been given the Executive Key to "Absurd Foolishness" and "Activity Central" just in case of an "emergency". So, be good! :P

Welcome back, Platty!

December 11, "Intermission": The games in "Activity Central" have become a bit monotonous, and have been receiving less attention than normal lately. Part of the reason being that they hadn't been updated for a while. Also, it was getting hard for me to find decent pictures online, without me ripping them, myself.

So, effective today, we'll be taking a short intermission on the games previously showcased in "AC". In the meantime, we'll be creating some new games to break up the monotony. Be on the lookout for new games, coming soon!

December 10, "Picking Up the Pieces": Well, after a long hiatus of not updating anything on the message boards or the main site, we'll be making our attempts to pick up the pieces, after the long stretch of nothingness that struck the site.

There have been many new movies released/announced since we last updated the "Coming Soon" section of the message boards. In effort to fix this, we're asking for your help! If you would like to help us out, watch for the thread that will be popping up soon. We want to make sure that you're given as many opportunities to help out as you can get. That way, you don't get lost in the fray!

Keep an eye out, and thank you for your continued support towards making RD a wonderful place to come to everyday, as we near 5,000 posts! ^_^

December 6, "Small Update": Please accept my sincerest apologies, everyone. School is winding down for the semester, and soon I will be able to give Reel Discussion my undivided attention. Games will be updated, the Coming Soon section will be updated, I'll add more items to the calendar, and the site quality will return to its former beauty.

Also, we've had somewhat of a dry season for the last month, except for "Happy Feet" and "Casino Royale". "HF" has remained in the number one position at the Box Office, and "CR" has taken second for the last three weeks. What the industry needs, is to break up the monotony. Once we get some decent movies in theaters, we should be truckin' once more. Remember that major award shows will be coming up sometime in the middle of next year, so there should be LOTS of great movies to look forward to in the future.

Thank you for remaining dedicated to Reel Discussion, even through our driest of times. We'll pull out of this soon; I promise. ;)

I find that really helpful. Although there's the green arrows indicating "new threads", sometimes there's a thread or two that I'll miss on my first go about, and when I return the next day, the arrow is no longer green. Now I won't have to look closely for recent posts.
