Nope. He either traded or hacked or got it in FireRed/LeafGreen/Sapphire/Ruby/Emerald during the Mystery Dungeon events at Toys 'r' Us and if he got it in a trade, it was most likely hacked anyway (unless it has a specific Original Trainer [MYSTRY] and ID No. [which I forget]) |

Actually, i went onto GTS to get it. And PS i got a Level 100 Groudon today as well. My Friend and I found a great formula to get 100s. I will now share it. _---Slingshot---_ 1.) Breed a starter (preferably Kanto or hoenn) 2.) Evolve him at least once, preferablly twice. 3.) Trade him for a Zapdos, any level 4.) Trade him for a mewtwo any level 5.) Trade the Mewtwo for a leve 100 of a simpler guy or starter. ---If you want a level 100 legend, read ahead--- 6.) Make sure you get a level 100 starter 7.) Trade it for a 100 Articuno/Zapdos/Moltres 8.) Trade it for a level 10 Mewtwo ---If you wan a level 100 obtainable through nintendo events, read on--- 9.) Trade for a Jirachi if possible, if not then live with Mewtwo And there you have it. It really works. Keep watching my trainer card, i get more pokemon every day. Hope it helps

Can't you just train a pokemon yourself? |

Back in the day, I used Missingo-Rare Candy glitch to get my crew to 100. iI've always heard that if you train them up that high yourself, they'll be stronger though. |

Yeah, that's true. Apparently the games keep track of a hidden set of stats which are called Effort Values, you see, which you miss out on if you just use Rare Candies. You get Effort Values through defeating other Pokémon, and they affect your Pokémon's stats depending on what Pokémon you receive them from. For instance, if you defeat a fast Pokémon like a Ponyta you'll probably get an effort value which will influence your Pokémon's speed stat. And for every 4 effort values you gain for a particular stat, your Pokémon will gain one extra increase of that statistic when it levels up. There's a limit to it, though, as any one Pokémon can only earn 510 Effort Values. Still, though, that allows you to increase a particular stat by roughly 70 points if you dedicate enough time to it. |

EV's tend to make me nervous, but thanks for clearing that up, Eoin...I had heard people talking about them, but had no idea what it meant... |

Do a Barrel Roll!

I used to use the rare Candy cheat as well, although I also used the cheat on items such as Iron, Calcium and Carbos as well, then used this as much on possible on all the pokémon I'd levelled up. Not sure if it cancels out the whole losing EV thing, but it probably helps anyway
