Alas! Ear wax!

Our new celebrity FELIX CLAUDIU MIRONESCU
Hey my name is Tiia! I've been rockin this world for 23 years, but I've only been chillin in the rp world for 7 years. My timezone is GMT+2. I heard of this place through Joshua's personal invitation. Okay that's it. Oh wait English is not my native language. Okay bye!
"I don't go looking for trouble. Trouble usually finds me." - Harry Potter
Name: Felix Claudiu Mironescu Nickname(s): N/A Date of birth: February 29, 1892 Age: 113 (28, if you count his actual birthdays, the Leap Day once every four years) Sexual orientation: Heterosexual Blood status: Mixed blood, a Dhampir, one half a vampire, the other half a wizard. School, House and Year: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Slytherin, started in 1903, graduated in 1910. Occupation: Wandmaker and the Wandlore Professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. On a side note a Parselmouth and an Animagus assimilating a vampire bat. Favourite Class: Wandlore, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration Least Favourite Class: Ancient Runes, Astronomy, History of Magic Wand:- First: Chestnut, 10½ inches, dragon's heartstring
- Current: Ash, 11 inch, vampire blood and a Basilisk scale.
"Is that why you dyed your eyebrow" - Luna Lovegood
Hair: Black, short and somewhat spiky. Eyes: Maroon eyes, usually have a calm and calculative look, but when Felix goes in frenzy the eyes burn up from deep maroon to bright red, flashing dangerously. Style: Stoic, formal style enhanced with black, billowing robes with a Slytherin crest. When he's not wearing his robes you might just see him wearing a black muggle suit with a black dress shirt, black vest and a garnet tie. Distinguishing Marks: If you don't count certain vampire characteristics as "distinguishing", then I'm afraid Felix is just your average Joe. General Appearances: Towering at 6'5" (or 195,58cm) the slender form of Felix gives an instant intimidating feel. His eyebrows are slanted in a way it might make people think he's harmless and a pushover. Felix's skin is pale due to him being a part vampire, and thanks to that quality he has rather sharp canines as well. Play-by: Adrien Brody.
"...from now on, I don't care if my tea leaves spell 'die, Ron, die,' I'm chucking them in the bin where they belong" - Ron Weasley
Patronus:- Felix's happiest memory is from his eleventh birthday, when he received a letter from his birthmother. However this memory is nowhere near strong enough in order to produce a Patronus. Even if Felix would ever encounter a memory strong enough for said purpose, he will never be able to master the Patronus charm. If he ever could, though, his Patronus would be a falcon.
Dementor:- The memory of Felix's adoptive parents betraying and essentially stabbing him in the back. Even though he was only four years old, Felix will never forget climbing on the carriage and sitting in the dark as his adoptive father took them to a lakefront. Before Felix could utter the question about what they were doing there, his sight was compromised by a bag over his head and some sort of a metal chain tied around his neck tightly. Where the chain touched his bare skin, it sizzled and burned him, and Felix fought a scream of pain. Once completely bound (or so his adoptive parents thought) he was tossed into the dark water, expected to die.
Mirror or Erised:- To be in a powerful position in the society, preferably from the background. A puppet master of sorts. Something subtle and low-key, Felix hates to be a center of attention outside from his classroom. Felix also hopes he will be able to keep his promise to his late friends to raise their orphaned child well.
Boggart:- Felix has a combination of hydro- and thalassophobia, fears of water and of sea and being in the ocean. Even while flying above water makes him feel anxious. Upon encountering Felix, a Boggart transforms into an image of a young version of Felix falling deeper and deeper into the abyss tied up with ropes. Unlike in his past, the Boggart version of the memory makes the small, four-year-old boy go absolutely limp, in some cases the sackcloth bag even comes loose to reveal the boy's dead and horrified face.

"Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" - Albus Dumbledore
Biography:- Felix was born on a cloudy, freezing leap day night of 1892 to a young witch, who left the newborn baby to a baby farmer* near Guildford, Surrey, as she didn't see herself suitable to raise a baby. She left a note stating; "My name is Felix Claudiu Mironescu. Please care for me where my mother couldn't." The newborn spent a couple of months at the baby farmer's place, where he was fed and taken care of. He was a quiet child and got adopted in June 1892 by a muggle couple who were unable to have children of their own.
As time went by little Felix's adoptive parents realized that there was something peculiar about this baby; his eyes were auburn-red, he didn't eat much, and never in the four years he stayed with them did he ever smile. He had also been seen in the garden speaking to snakes, as it seemed, and somehow making the raindrops on the lawn dance; the first time his magic showed. That scared the adoptive parents enough so that they decided to do something about this. Felix had grown no emotional ties to the couple, and in turn it was very difficult for them to love him. The first night of October 1896 was upon them, as the God-fearing couple made a serious decision; they would get rid of the boy, because they thought he was possessed by a demon. Felix's adoptive father harnessed their horse and together the crowd of three started their way towards the Enton Lakes to execute the grim task the couple harboured.
That night Felix had no idea what the late night trip was about; his "parents" never stayed up this late, not to mention making a trip anywhere. Felix's sight was good even in the dark, and he observed the surroundings as the small town's setting changed into something like that of a park or a forest's. Upon arriving at the lakeside of the Lower Enton Lake his adoptive father threw a sackcloth bag over Felix's head and his adoptive mother wrapped a silver crucifix around his neck to both drive the Devil away and also to tie the bag in place. The boy's arms and legs were also tied together with a coarse rope, and two heavy sand bags were tied around his waist, after which the older man dumped him into the lake. Felix sank below the black surface of the even lake and started drowning. He didn't much struggle, but after the horse carriage the couple were driving set off from the lakeside a few minutes later, Felix ripped the rope confining his arms to shreds with raw power like they were just pieces of yarn, and he liberated himself of the remaining weighs and ropes. The boy got out of the water and pulled the silver trinket from around his neck and tossed the bag on the ground, and he took a closer look at the cross, hissing and revealing his sharpened canines. The cross reacted in the most peculiar way, melting on the boy's hand.
Felix treaded nearly seven miles following his instincts to find his home, and once he did, he discovered his adoptive parents staring blankly at the fireplace their backs towards the front door in the living room. His eyes glowing with a deeper red than what they usually did and sharp fangs flashing he attacked and slew the couple in frenzy, feasting on their blood and leaving their dead corpses to rot in the house, for all he cared. Felix was gone before daybreak.
Living in the streets for the next couple of years Felix survived by eating rats and whatever he could find in the garbage. His bloodlust got out of hands occasionally and he fed on a random homeless sometimes, but all things considered he kept a low profile, and the Ministry of Magic never either heard about the offences, or just chose not to act against him. The winter before his seventh birthday was terribly cold, and some kind soul, after seeing him in dirty and tiny clothes with his whole appearance absolutely rugged, took him to a wizarding orphanage.
For the first time in his life he was not viewed as a terrifying freak, but with compassion. There were other children with magical abilities, but no other part-vampires, as the witches at the orphanage soon realized he was. However there was a boy a few years older than Felix, Alexander, who had been infected with lycanthropy, and they soon became friends. Friends, being a vague term, rather 'partners in crime', as the two boys wreaked havoc around the orphanage and often got into trouble for it. For example once Felix even had a venomous snake attack another orphan – suggested by Alexander. Whereas the two enjoyed their mischief, the orphanage keepers were angry at such behaviour, and separated the two. Soon after Alexander started going to Hogwarts, and Felix was alone again.
February 28th of 1903 was a remarkable 'almost-birthday' for Felix. Not because of presents - he got none - but he got two letters. The first one was from the Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Phineas Nigellus Black, telling Felix he had been accepted to the school. The second letter was from his birthmother. In the letter she explained to Felix why she had left him to the baby farmer shortly after he was born, and who his parents were. Not by name, his mother didn't want their identities revealed, because 'the Ministry would very much appreciate such knowledge'. Felix learnt that his father was a Transylvanian vampire and his mother herself was a pure-blood witch in seventh generation. She begged for Felix's forgiveness, and wanted to try make it all up for Felix by telling him there was a vault in Gringotts Wizarding Bank under his name, and there was a key for the vault attached to the letter.
The beginning of his first year at Hogwarts drew closer, and during the summer Felix went to Diagon Alley to get the things needed for school. He went alone, because he wanted to, and was let in Diagon Alley with a little help from the bartender of the Leaky Cauldron. His first stop was naturally the Bank, as he had not a penny to his name before that. The goblins showed weird respect to him, bowing to him and speaking reverently, as they knew the boy's parents. They guided him to his vault, and Felix couldn't believe what he found within. He had expected an amount that could barely cover his studying costs, but instead he found a pile of most definitely thousands of galleons. After getting a decent amount of gold out Felix went to finish his school shopping, and went to Ollivanders Wand Shop to get his first wand; chestnut, 10½ inches, and the core of a dragon's heartstring. He was ready to begin his seven years at Hogwarts.
Felix was sorted into Slytherin with very little hesitation by the Sorting Hat, and he did well in Transfiguration and Wandlore particularly, and harboured an interest in Dark Arts, but hid it well from his fellow schoolmates. Gellert Grindelwald had started to gather an army of Dark Wizards to his ranks, and Felix was fascinated by his ideology. After graduating from Hogwarts Felix trained to become a wandmaker, and travelled across Europe to study different wand materials. During the travels he ran into a couple of vampires in Eastern Europe, one of whom turned out to be his father, but he kept his name a secret. He replaced his first wand with one of his own creation; an eleven-inch piece made from ash wood, and the core made from a basilisk scale and a tiny vial containing his vampire father's blood.
When Felix returned to England he started his own wand making company at Diagon Alley to compete with Ollivander's shop, but was not as popular, by any means. Whereas Ollivander's wands were guaranteed to have the wand for every witch and wizard, the Mironescu wands were generally made for stronger minds, for those most talented.
After Felix graduated from Hogwarts his physical growth seemed to slow down drastically. He stayed young and watched his former schoolmates grow old and frail, dying eventually. Even his werewolf friend, Alexander, passed away during Grindelwald's revolution in the 1940's. Where the 'Global Wizarding War' touched the continental Europe, most of England remained untouched by Grindelwald's orders. Hitler's influence was felt in the United Kingdom, however, but it was hardly a threat to the wizarding community. Felix settled to merely observe both the wars from afar, and kept to his wandmaking career.
All that is known about Felix during all the years leading to the current events is that he kept on working as a wandmaker and while many witches and wizards preferred Ollivanders for their wand needs, those who did pick a Mironescu wand instead were very satisfied. An example of a satisfied customer was a dark haired eleven-year-old in the beginning of the 1970's, who ended up as one of the key characters of the Second Wizarding War, as well as the current Matron of the Hogwarts Hospital Wing who wields a Mironescu wand, as well.
During his 113 years Felix has become an Animagus, and comically enough can shift into a vampire bat. He is not registered by the Ministry of Magic, though. The past couple of years, since the Dark Lord fell, Felix has been re-evaluating his ideology, and has chosen to share his knowledge about wandlore by applying for the open spot the Hogwarts staff has for the subject. He also became an adoptive parent of a war orphan, the boy's parents were his close friends and both faced their demise in the War. He still lives in the same household as the boy, even though he's a Professor, so that he can carry out the promise he made to his friends.
* Baby farming was a term used in late-Victorian Era Britain to mean the taking in of an infant or child for payment. Some baby farmers "adopted" children for lump-sum payments, while others cared for infants for periodic payments. Though baby farmers were paid in the understanding that care would be provided, the term "baby farmer" was used as an insult, and improper treatment was usually implied. Illegitimacy and its attendant stigma were usually the impetus for a mother's decision to put her children "out to nurse" with a baby farmer, but baby farming also encompassed foster care and adoption in the period before they were regulated by British law. -Wikipedia Personality:- Felix likes to keep his personal life well wrapped up in mystery, and even his employers wouldn't know the whole truth about him. He wants to keep as much as he can about himself a secret. Even the Ministry doesn't know who his real parents are, and that makes Felix feel safe.
Felix is a calm, formal and indifferent person, and he doesn't seem to prefer a student over another, when it comes to school work. A student is a student, as people he most definitely will have an order of preference. He is very official when it comes to teaching, and he wishes to pass his knowledge to others as well.
With the ladies he is always quite the charmer, he enjoys an occasional flirt, but isn't looking for anything serious. Nothing beats the jugular vein of an attractive female, though, if bloodlust hits him. Luckily he has his vampiric weakness pretty much under control, but as they say, "to err is human", and at least he is half one.
Felix's adoptive parents' attempt on his life left its scars on him, that's when his first manic blood frenzy was triggered, resulting into bodies. In the long run it still seems to show, as once Felix goes into bloodlust-mode he can kill without hesitation and regret nor remorse afterwards. Then again he very much tries not to, not for repentance, but for the sake of staying under the hypothetic radar of the officials.

A bat flew across the bright night sky over the Forbidden Forest at Hogwarts. It was really quite late - or very early, depending on the perspective - but as nocturnal as bats are, this particular one had been awake for nearly twenty-four hours straight. Suddenly, as if spotting its prey, the creature took a dive into the middle of the woods, and what made contact with earth beneath was a human being. Well, technically a Dhampir. Felix Claudiu Mironescu had returned to the grounds of Hogwarts, and before heading back to his study, he had decided to gather some materials from the Forest. This particular forest was one of the few places in the United Kingdom where unicorn hair was found with not a lot of trouble.
The unicorns didn't much like Felix. His dank aura drove them away, but he was quick on his feet and his touch had a somewhat soothing effect on creatures. Once he caught a lone stallion, he calmed the magnificent creature down and proceeded with care and sensitivity to harvest a couple of tail hairs. Not too many, he didn't want to cause any trouble with the equine creatures, and he had enormous respect for them. More so than towards some people. After patting the gentle creature on his neck as a thank you Felix approached a particular tree that had awakened his interest. Why, that's bizarre, I had almost forgotten there were alders growing in this forest. He drew closer to the tree and confirmed what he thought he saw; this particular tree was a top quality wand material. Felix pulled his own wand from his pocket and sliced a branch off, and with a quick "Reducio!" he shrunk the branch into a size that fit into his ingredient bag hanging from his belt.
Well, that was a nice turn of events to find something quite as rare as some alder and a couple of unicorn hairs. Can't wait to see what I will make of these, he mused. Through the vast mass of trees the Dhampir could see the horizon brightening up a bit and decided it's time to return to the castle. No doubt his classes would start in a matter of hours.
