Well...a lot went down today in the time leading up to, during and following the Immunity Challenge. Let's review...

  • It just takes two people to cause complete and utter chaos in a tribe of 12 people
  • I need to have more faith that rational people will not suddenly turn irrational...and vice versa
  • I can't entirely paint myself as a non-threat in competitions anymore
  • I need to have more confidence in my challenge skills
  • Go to the source
  • Roger needs to CTFO and not start taking everything so personally
A little but more on this last point. It wasn't that I was offended by what Roger said about Dave ("F*** Him"). I just found it completely over-the-top and unnecessary. But last tribal he flipped out when he wasn't told what the vote was. And this round he flipped out when he knew what the vote was and couldn't get five out of ten people to flip on what was going to be a unanimous decision.

The only bit of truth is his comment that "everyone sees Dave, Jenna, and Rob as an unbreakable threesome." We are tight, yes...but Dave was the back-up plan had we lost the prior challenge and had things gone wrong on the kidnap. So, Rob and I would have no problem voting out Dave. And now...hopefully he's a shield in front of me that will always be more of a threat.

But...I'm still treating this as if I'm on the bottom and need to improve my standing in the game. I don't think next round will be completely cut and dry...I think some of Tambaqui will want to keep Roger. But Dave seems convinced otherwise. If Roger doesn't win immunity and nobody on New Jaburu flips...and there are no strange kidnapping or exiles or double votes or something...we have the votes to get out Roger.

But I've told Alex and Matt that Daniel was our pre-merge target. And it may be interesting to get him out sooner rather than later. Now, if Roger is trying to be an intentional goat to bring to the end...that's an interesting strategy. And if I catch wind of that...I'll end that as soon as possible.

On the subject of "goats"........ is it usually an effective strategy, or is it that people just aren't aware of how they're being perceived?

I think the latter. I think players who intentionally try to be goats are few and far between.... and even if they made it to the end to reveal their were in fact a GOAT
(Greatest of ALLL TIIIIIIIME), the Jury wouldn't sit there in awe and amazement.... they'd be like "yeah, right."
