Lots more done now I have been sent the missing sprue ....cheers for that Steve More sub assemblies completed and a quick coat of primer Grey on..... ![]() While the glue /paint dried on those I finished decalling the Solid Rocket boosters and Launch Pad ..... ![]() ..... and then later today I gave the boosters a final Satin varnish and the Main Fuel Tank a Matt finish. All done ![]() Ive added magnets to the bottom of the boosters to avoid them falling over when on the Pad. ![]() I now turned to the Shuttle...... I resprayed with Vallejo Game Color White Primer to remove those pesky Orange finger prints and this time I made sure I Gloss coated it for protection ....lesson learned ! Lower surfaces painted Revell Aqua 77 Dust grey ![]() Wing leading edges Aqua 79 and the Black areas with Vallejo Color Matt Black.....just got the edge of the fin and rudder to do to complete the painting . ![]() Might get some more done tomorrow Andy |

Ive started the decals and they are superb !! Revells decals have been great since they started using Cartograf but these are better still I thought I would have big problems putting the black trim with black tile decal (42) on the side bulges that are quite a complex curve but they settled down with just one application of MicroSol A tip for budding shuttle builders........adding thin black stripe decal for the cargo bay door outline makes a big difference to the overall look . Strangely enough the photo of the completed shuttle on the kit box side has this added even though its not included on the decal sheet .....I used some from the Xtradecal Black stripe sheet. Not many more to go on .....she will be Endeavour which is in line with my named vessels of Captain James Cook theme ( he was born down the road in Marton-in-Cleveland )I did Discovery earlier this year. ![]() Andy |

John....get one mate ...its a very nice kit Shuttle and the boosters finished Really pleased with this , the Shuttle itself is probably the weakest area of the whole package due to it needing a bit of filler here and there and there again but once its painted up and the superb decals adding it turns out very splendidly indeed NOTE....I have used parts 174/175/176/177 and added them to the launch pad for the "support" , these are not shown on the instructions but are present in the box and are true representations of the actual items on the real launch pad. Why Revell would have you use the other support arms which are not accurate or present on the pad when the "real" items are in the kit is a bit of a mystery. Just the Launch tower to do now.... ![]() ![]() ![]() Now got Endeavour and Discovery ..... ![]() Andy |

Added a few sub assemblies to the Launch Tower. My method for building this Tower is to build each sub assembly , paint , attach and then touch up the paintwork. It is a complex build and does require some forward thinking.....something Im not too good at sometimes ! There is still a lot more to be added . ![]() Thanks for looking in .....it will be a long term build so thanks for your patience Andy |
