Almost two months later and the Trabant is back on the bench.

I had several attempts at getting this right. Masking didn't work, in the end I sprayed some decal paper and applied the stripes as a decal.

The base pink was sprayed

Not the most exciting picture: xtradecal white paper sprayed blue yellow and green

Now that's done I can add the chrome trims and glass (once I've added a few gloss coats and done the odd touch up).

Thanks for looking in

and to cut a long story short.....

This Trabant has been through what felt like a dozen paint jobs...I had a near fatal dose of Advanced Modeller Sydrone, self inflicted rivet counting.....I just wasn't satisfied with the paint job.

To save my sanity I've moved away from the technicolour to the communist colour palette of brown.

The build is finally complete, here is what I've been up to in the past few days

A blanket covers a blemish on the back of the seat (which was a custom colour mix)

A silver Sharpie pen is handy for touching up some of the detail work. Sharpie pens also came in handy when doing the brake and indicator lights and the black part on the chrome trim.

And here are the main body parts

with details being added slowly

This kit is super detail, the kit is akin to the Tornado kit. It isn't a quick build but once It is together the detail just 'pops'.

And here it is with all the details (finally) added. It took the best part of a day to add them all!

The longest review build in the history of scale modelling, my fault not the kits. I would highly recommend it.

Thanks for looking in,

Nathan

A nice one.

BTW the silver air fans on the C- stripe are missing.
