I am a huge fan of the graphics on Clavework Graphics web-site: www.clavework-graphics.co.uk and in particular their Fantasy Racing Teams, so my project for next year is to produce as many of these as I can. I have put a request out on other sites for any spare decals from old, abandoned racing/rally cars or bikes in any scale and have had a few responses and have since found that decals are available on eBay for "Slot Cars" in various scale. My first build - starting today - will be a Revell 1/48 Messerschmitt Bf110 in Gulf Racing colours. The kit has been started before but for some reason I've always lost interest before completing it, even though I really like the Wespe decals scheme. ![]() Fortunately, Humbrol brought out the correct colours when they released the Aston Martin in Gulf colours a few years ago (I believe - I don't remember 44 and 46 being in the paint range before then but stand to be corrected). So my wife picked up a tin of each for me when she was in town yesterday. I am actually more excited about my next build,a 1/48 Airfix EE Lightning in Rothmans colours, but I haven't got the decals for that one yet. http://www.clavework-graphics.co.uk/aircraft/fantasy_racing_teams/fantasy_FR013.html not to mention the Airfix 1/48 in John Player Special black and gold - not a Clavework graphic, but inspired by their Spitfire in that scheme. After that it will have to be something in 1/32 scale - probably the appalling ESCI/Italeri F-117 I have in the stash - any suggestions for a suitable racing team scheme? Cheers Al. |

I saw your post (on ATF?) and that got me thinking. I think it is a great fun idea ![]() I might have a go at this myself and thought you could apply the aircraft to WW2 aircraft of the same nation. Get a reasonable grid with British, Italian, German, French and Japanese fighters ![]() Think the schemes would all need to be of the same general era to make it look right. F-117 could be in Penske team colours?
