After seeing several finished examples on the Hot Rod & Custom Car SIG stand at Huddersfield on Sunday I've decided to build this. :coolio:

Here are the contents of the box.

Paintwork will be similar to the box art but I will be adding some colour to the interior. ;)

I still haven't decided on a colour scheme but I have got a couple of ideas I could go with. Up to now I've got some primer on the body.

The suspension has been fitted to the chassis and sprayed semi gloss black.

Thanks Andy. I got the wheels fitted at the weekend so it was on with the body for a quick mock up.

The engine is nearly finished too. It's a pretty big lump with plenty of shiny pieces.

Here it is on the chassis.

As you can probably guess there isn't much room to spare under the bonnet with the body in place. :D

Thanks for the comments. For the paintwork I've decided to go with black over red. So far it's had a couple of coats of Tamiya Mica Red.

Posted Image

I'll give it another coat of red tomorrow then I'll mask it off ready for the black.

Since the last update I've fitted spark plug wires to the engine.

Posted Image

Today I masked up the body ready for the black paint.

Posted Image

I'd already painted the bonnet a few days earlier so when I removed the masking from the body I had this. :)

Posted Image

Then it was time for a quick mock up.

Posted Image

I'll be moving on to the interior next.

The interior is finished. I added some red and silver detailing to the door panels to add a bit of colour to them.

Love that big chrome gas pedal. It should be finished soon at this rate. :)

Just a minor update. I got the decals on this evening, I had a spot of bother getting a good fit at the front of the bonnet but they don't look too bad.

Thanks John. I lost a door handle to the carpet monster temporarily but after finding it I put the finishing touches to it over the weekend.
