I am going attempt to get the Revell 1:400 Aida built for Telford, I know it’s quite a ways away but it’s a subject genre I’ve not made in about 40 years and I’m with Ian being an inspiration with his Titanic scene at Cosford, I’m going to attempt and put some lights in it.

Now step one in the instructions is joining the hull halves together, however given my intention to illuminate it, I thought it better to open up the hull portholes, so last night while watching Car SOS and Thronecast on catch up, that’s what I did with a pin vice and a scalpel, 190 of them.

When done the halves were joined and the strengthening supports cemented in place.

The rear manoeuvring thruster housings and propeller driveshafts were installed. I'll not be putting the propellers in place until the hull is painted.

When they were done I carried out a quick dry fit of the deck and superstructure to make everything will line up and get an overall impression of the ship.

Everything looks ok so far, a lot of painting ahead and I’m still getting my head around the order to paint it in.

I've been tempted to try this one as I love the livery, but storage would be a problem once finished. I will now be able to enjoy it vicariously.
