I'm probably doing this all wrong...but its too late to turn back now.

THANK YOU all for your offers of help.
Ya gotta love this site for the friendly folks that frequent it.

In reply to the question , my model will be a 69 Camaro Z28 RS. I've had these kits since July and never had a lot of interest in building them until now.

I've just finished my last model of 2011, so this GB is perfect timing. Can't wait to get started.

I've started prepping my project by washing the "greasy" Camaro parts. I also started checking the parts on a possible alternative build. The header on this topic says any REVELL kit...so perhaps prepping a Monogram is a waste of time. Would someone please clarify the parameters?? At any rate here is what I've got so far. I'm pretty sure the Camaro will be silver with a black interior.

Many parts were painted today after hours of seam scraping. I'm sure there are mistakes that have been made... but I'm having a good time... and to me thats what this hobby is about

Looking good so far. I've been finding that building cars takes a lot longer then aircraft because there are so many extra pieces and parts that need more then one color. That said they are fun.

Thanks Andy and Dirk.

Dirk I agree...I am on my way now to "Future" some parts so that other colors can be applied/added without smearing the original.

Cracking start Les.Im sure you will do it justice. Those headers look great.
The 68 SS is my favorite car ,but ended up with a 69 Nova as my first car.

Phew... this car stuff is really different...I repainted the body 3X!!! and I'm still not totally happy with it. Maybe tomorrow I'll have better luck. I did accomplish a bit more tonight on other areas. I found that some cheapie felt markers work very well for adding chrome strips to the interior.

BTW, the color is Alclad "D" in a glass bottle from 15 years ago....remember that stuff??? You thin it with Acetone or else you get cotton candy out of your airbrush...

Heres a few more pics from the late night session. My wife said to paint as late as I wanted...shes a keeper!!!

This won't be an "RS" with the spoiler and all that other junk.... just a regular ol' Camaro. So I don't think the black decal panels would be correct on it. I could be wrong tho... what I know about cars is next to nothing.

Thanks guys for the comments.... here are a few more photos from this morning's session. I should be working on the bottom plumbing shortly and then start slapping this together. I can see spots that will need touch up...but thats a simple process.

Already the instructions have taken me down the wrong road. There is NO WAY that the engine will fit into the chassis WITH the headers on. However...they do fit with some "fanaggling" if you come from underneath using tweezers and a hammer...LOL

I went back and double checked... there are no brown paint smears on the steering wheel's chrome...its a reflection (phew). I also touched up all the blue spots on the chassis and interior with a brush, mounted the entire dual exhaust system and the differential and rear springs. Not a lot left to do (yeah right)

Tomorrow is pretty much a lost day.....so if I push hard tonight......

Thanks Andy...I'm headed to the shop shortly to see what I can accomplish tonight.
I can always work until the wee hours like I did last night. I'd like to get this put away and get cracking on the rest of these car kits.... just to get this years numbers up. Its the 4th already and I don't have much to show for it. I take it that the Monogram kits are not eligible for this build?? I just might build them anyway.

I'm getting really sick of looking at this model...LOL I think I'll stop here for tonight. Not a lot left to do...the grill and some lights plus a couple of license plates. Maybe later tomorrow.

Andy you can still collect that $20!!
