Looking good! The interior sort of reminds me of the Ford Anglia my dad had back in the seventies... :)

Thanks for the comments guys, this car certainly has character.

Today I've added two gloss coats (Vallejo) and I've added a few of the external details.

A few blemished in the paint needs sorting out and a few details like steering wheel need adding!

Once that's done the Trabant will be....done.

Thanks for looking in,

Nathan

One last stage to go...touch ups that I've just spotted in the photographs

I've decided to weather the Trabant, and I used a mix of Mig pigments blended with enamel thinners.

I'd forgotten that I had used an enamel based metallic paint, so I've had to touch up here and there with Citadel Mithryl Silver.

That's a fantastic result! I love the finish, with just the right amount of weathering in just the right places to make it look real. Well done, sir.

Thanks to the moderators for letting me push the limits of the group builds.

It was a lovely kit to work with and I'd recommend it.

Cheers comrades!

Lovely job.

I've seen a few of these when I visit my brother and sister in law in Hungary. This is my wife standing next to a Traby.

Yours is obviously the Delux version with all the chrome and extra lights.

Given the expensive repair I've just paid for for some malfunctioning electronic trickery on my car, the sort of stuff that never used to go wrong because it didn't exist  , I've currently got a real soft spot for the sort of car you can fix with a hammer and chicken wire.

Well, absolutely good.
A really nice copy of this "plastic-bomber".

BTW, the pic from Hungary shows the later modell with an VW-engine.

Thanks for the comments guys.

The Hungarian Trabant looks fantastic.

I've just booked a few nights in Berlin so (hopefully) by the end of the week I'll have driven a Trabant on one of the Trabi Safaris around Berlin :woo:
