I wasn't originally going to join this build, but I changed my mind as soon as the start date arrived!
I just can't resist a Group Build . . .
(Note to self- sign up for fewer Group Builds)

I thought I might put together a quick build for this, and there's no better scale for a quickie
than 1/144! I wanted a quick build because I'm also taking part in a "Tornado Special Schemes"GB
elsewhere, for which I hope to build 2 or 3 models . . .
(Note to self- definitely sign up for fewer Group Builds)

Anyway, I found several Communist Infiltrators in the stash, but only 2 were Revell kits. One was
the Tupolev Tu-95 "Bear-D", which wasn't really suitable for a quick build (that kit deserves better!)
and the other was this . . .

My little Miggy is moulded in largely flash-free white plastic-

and has a nice little decal sheet which appears to include all the blue areas of the aircraft
as decals,

although I'll be trying to match the blue in paint, as I don't much fancy those "wraparound"
total coverage decals for the tailplanes . . .

Looking at all the models being built for this, seems like it'll be a cracker of a GB!
Good Luck, everybody!

Interesting build in the old Swifts colours. It's just about Communist, but we're looking at the very last days of the Soviet Union here! ;)

I've made a start with this, and as is usual with "small" (you know what I mean!) aircraft in 1/144, rapid progress has been made.

With 9 parts assembled, I've now got this:

The total lack of any interior detailing helps, of course!

An undercoat of white paint is the basis for further painting.

See you when I've got something to report . . .

There is some progress with this, but I HATE THAT DECAL SHEET!!!!!
The decals are brittle, won't "unstick" from the backing paper, won't move
once they've touched the model, all of them are oversized, and generally
hinder the modeller more than they help . . .
Anyhoo, here she is with the offending items in situ . . .

Still, she looks kinda like a MiG-29, so I'll carry on . . .

Neat build from the tiny kit. Like the Germans they sure can do an eye catching scheme.
