Fans of the original "Star Wars" trilogy will no doubt recognize the Galactic Empire's tenacious TIE fighters. The "TIE" designation comes from the spacecraft's Twin Ion Engine system, which is powered by solar panels on each wing. While TIE fighters lack shields or hyperdrive capabilities, they have been known to outrun and outmaneuver Rebel Alliance spacecraft on more than one occasion

This is a re-boxing of the still recent kit (2011), but with a RRP of around the £25 mark im not sure Revell will do well with this.

This is typical Easy kit with pre coloured parts, and is rated for 8+, so i will put that to the test in a 2 part review

1.What you get in the box
2.A 9 year olds build- let see if it is smarter than a 9 year old

PART 1

So what do you get....

The instructions are NOT of Revell's usual style but are in a colour booklet form and consist of a build guide

you get 4 pre painted sprues, 2 clear pieces and a rubber pilot

In Conclusion

Although the kit looks god and should fit together well (we shall see later!) Im unsure who Revell are aiming this at, Easy Kits are normally aimed at Children to bring them into the hobby but at this price im not sure todays pocket money could afford them. There are those die hard Star wars fans out there who im sure will buy this to display. But for the avid modeller, maybe they should have released this rebox unpainted and not as an easy kit?

Anyway look out for Part 2 tonight!

PART 2

By Jamie Marples Age 9 - Assistant Reviewer

dad gave me this tie fighter kit.

Posted Image

it is very hard to do without glue and hard to get of the sprue's.

Posted Image
Posted Image

several bits of the cockpit had to be glued. the wings were awkward to get of the sprue's.

Posted Image

the wings and the body needed someone strong to put together.

Posted Image

In Conclusion

I think it is a bit expensive for what it is. I couldn't make it without some help and I am 9. I would recommend it to someone strong and focused but not to anyone else.

here it is, hope you like it. :jedi: :empire
