REVELL 1/72 Hudson Mk I/II Patrol Bomber

Posted Image

Once again Revell have re-boxed a MPM kits this time the Venerable Hudson bomber, this was first released by MPM back in 2006 and has since been re-boxed by Italeri

On to the kit

The box includes:

4 sprue’s of light grey moulded plastic, 1 clear sprue, instruction sheet and decal sheet.

The instructions....

The instructions are of Revell's usual style in booklet form and have Revell colour call outs only. There are 12 pages containing 60 steps for the build!!

The Decals....

The decal sheet is in perfect register and very clean and crisp, interestingly they depict the same aircraft as the MPM boxing but are layed out different

The markings....

There are 2 schemes for this kit. But you will note that they are both Mk1’s and the kit is labelled Mk 1 or 2!! Another boxing coming soon?

Lockheed Hudson MkI No 224 Sqn RAF Leuchars Aug 1940

Lockheed Hudson MkI No 206 Sqn RAF Bircham Newton June 1940

The Plastic...

As previously stated there are 4 sprue’s and 1 clear one
the kit has all of the parts to render the Hudson Mk.I or Mk.II variants. The extra engines on one of the sprues and the solid nose tell of possible future versions to come.

In Conclusion

This kit has done its rounds, its been released twice by MPM, once by Italeri and now by Revell, its RRP is £14.99 which is in line with the Italeri price, but lower than the MPM one. Having trawled the net, there appear to be many many very nice builds of this kit

Would i recommend it, YES!!

I've seen some nice builds from this tooling, but be aware, fit issues are widely reported with it.
